2008 Toyota Camry - Good car, but not luxury
This vehicle is very attractive and a perfect mid-size four-door. It has a streamlined look. The interior lights are also very attractive, but the console and dash do not have a "luxury" look. The cup holders are somewhat awkward in their positioning, and the console isn't very user-friendly (although it does have a good-sized compartment for cds, etc.).
Story
I love to hit the open road and really crank up the stereo, so was driving on the expressway when a trucker caught up with me, pulled up beside me and rolled down his window to show off his (clearly superior) sound system!
Pros
This vehicle runs extremely well, and I've had no maintenance issues with it for the past two years (other than regularly-scheduled maintenance). I have a lot of confidence in this vehicle mechanically - I never worry about making a long drive somewhere. I also love the electric windows/seats.
Cons
I don't like the "lightness" of this car. I had a 2001 version of the same make and model that felt much more solid, sturdy, and heavier. The cd player stopped working within the first year after I purchased the car, and the speakers do not sound like they're good-quality. This vehicle also does not handle well in the snow, despite the tires being in excellent condition.
2012 Toyota Camry - Great car for family
I had a '10 Camry prior to this. The upgraded sport seats & integrated touch screen dash interface really impressed me. The engine performs like a sportier car & the acceleration is satisfactory for my lead foot. The body style is very smooth & has no breaks with plastic trim pieces. It has a high end look & feel inside & out.
Story
We took a spontaneous road trip through a couple of states in it. It was a great time as a family.
Pros
The gas mileage is great. I drive 20,000 miles a year & have appreciated not filling up the tank as often. My favorite features would include the seat design in the SE & the white stitching on the dash that gives it a sportier look. The back seat is also spacious & accommodating to two large convertible rear facing car seats. The trunk has room for a stroller & groceries.
Even though this is the sport model, it doesn't have low profile tires, which will save you big money when it comes time to replace them.
Cons
The seats look awesome, but are uncomfortable on long road trips. I wish a nav system & rear view camera came standard on this model.
