Toyota Camry Owner Ratings & Reviews

1998 Toyota Camry - The best used car I've purchased
This car was purchased in 1998. I like it because of the initial cost and longevity. It has been in the repair shop very little during its life.
Pros
It is highly reliable. The gas mileage is at least 30 mpg highway. One specific feature that I love is that my battery did not die once when I left the headlights turned on by mistake overnight. The vehicle turned off the headlights automatically, thus saving my battery power. This might seem lame for a newer car, but for a 1998 version, that feature is very unique and helpful. It is easy to maneuver and requires very little maintenance. It is small and compact and easy to maneuver. It is also easy to remove ice and snow from it due to its small size.
Cons
Occasionally, it will surge forward without additional pressure placed on the gas pedal. Many individuals have attempted to encourage me to replace the car due to its age, but I find no real good reason to do so. One major con is that, when parking in malls, etc., it's small size makes it difficult to see around larger cars that may park on either side of me. I have to be very careful when exiting a parking space due to impaired vision behind and on all sides. I have no control over what size of vehicle parks on either side of me.
2008 Toyota Camry - It's a solid car for the price. It is dependable and drives pretty well. Looks very slick as well.
Bought car new and currently has 82000 miles on it. Overall this has been an exceptional car for the money. Average around 25 mpg. It is the base model so it lacks some of the more refined features. With that said there are some annoyances. The slight steering shutter at highway speeds. You press the accelerator but there is a short delay then the car takes off. Uses around a 1/2 qt of oil between changes (5000 miles with Mobil 1). Blind spots. Base model is a little noisy at highway speeds. Original tires were awful. New Goodyear’s are much better.
Pros
Expansive interior, powerful and fuel-efficient V6, plush ride quality, legendary reputation for reliability, top crash test scores, high resale value. Base model so there aren’t many "Features". Good drive to work everyday car. Great on the highway also.
Cons
Inconsistent fit and finish, a few low-grade interior plastics, minimal steering feedback. The accelerator issue is very annoying. Something needs to be changed with that.
