2007 Toyota Camry - Reliable and fuel-efficient
I have been extremely satisfied with my Toyota Corolla. I have owned it for over seven years, and it has been very reliable. It has held up to frequent two hour commutes and has performed beautifully on 10+ hour drives. It has required very little maintenance and has just now shown signs of parts needing to be replaced. The Corolla also has great fuel-efficiency making it an ideal choice in these times of high gas prices. As for the interior, there is plenty of leg room in both the front and back, and the back passengers are given adequate sitting room. There is also a sun roof that can completely open or tilt to let in the breeze and sun. The trunk is also very spacious and has assisted me in numerous moves over the years.
Story
This is the first car I've owned, so it is special to me in that regard. Since I was one of the first among my group of friends in high school to be able to drive, I would usually drive them all home after school. My friends would bring mixed CDs they made to play while we drove around. It was always a really good time, and it earned my car the nickname "Party Car."
Pros
It is very reliable and well-made. I have not had to replaced any parts until just recently. If you want a car that needs very little maintenance and very few trips to the gas station, the Corolla is definitely for you.
There are times when I've had to slam on the brakes, and the Corolla has never let me down. Even on icy, snowy roads, I've never had an issue braking.
The vehicle itself is aesthetically pleasing as well. The color (blue) is beautiful and stands out among other cars.
I also really enjoy the sun roof; it feels great to have it open on a sunny, breezy day!
Cons
It is a little outdated now compared to newer models. It does not have all the bells and whistles of newer cars. Having just a CD player was fine five years ago, but it's really limited me in what music I can listen to now. Having an integrated GPS and rear-view camera would be nice as well, but there's nothing that can really be done about that. I had some issues with the tires letting out air in the past year, but they are in need of replacement anyway. Overall, these are minor annoyances and are mostly just me pining for a newer car.
2009 Toyota Camry - Content.
I love this car for what it is. It isn't anything flashy but it gets from A to B in comfort. The car gets phenomenal gas mileage but isn't underpowered. Very comfortable with great heated seats. some of the electronics inputs are placed in weird spots but overall it is a great dependable car.
Story
It's not really a car designed for fun and as a result I don't really have any stories that fit.
Pros
Great engine. The gas mileage is amazing on the highway, averaging over 32 mpg. The engine has plenty of get up and go to get out of tight situations if necessary. I love the heated seats, they get warm very quickly even in brutally cold temperatures. The overall feel of the car when driving is great, the brakes are great, very sensitive but not too touchy. The visibility is great, the car has very few blind spots, making it very easy to avoid accidents.
Cons
Interior wears pretty quickly even within routine maintenance. Specifically the headliner on the car is peeling off, the leather seats are cracked and recently the vinyl on the dashboard has cracked from sitting in the sun. The placement of the auxiliary cord input is at a very weird and hard to get to place. The center console slides forward very easy and can be very annoying.
