Last summer, I bought a forest green Toyota Camry from a used car place. It had over 100,000 miles, but I just needed it for one year in town driving. It has now been a year, and I have had no major problems. It runs good, and it's reliable. I have had all the tires replaces, and the oil has been changed four times. What impressed me is when I was side swiped last winter by a brand new car, and the front part of that car fell apart with several parts falling off. My car had damage to the door, and I ended up in a different lane, but I drove away from that accident. The other car did not fare so well.
Story
I took some friends to see fireworks on the 4th of July, and when it was over, the traffic was horrendous. We were stuck in the traffic for almost an hour. I was already low on gas. Although it ran constantly while waiting, the gas did not run out. It also did not overheat, though the weather had been in the 90s that afternoon. Impressed.
Pros
My car is very durable and reliable. I have driven for two summers and one winter. It always starts up and performs well. Last winter, we had several days that it was below zero, and the car started up immediately. For an old car, the sound from the original car stereos works great with crystal clear sound. All the parts have worked without any repairs.
Cons
The most negative thing I have experienced is its performance during winter driving. Most small cars are sturdy on our MI roads, but my Camry would slide all over the place during snowy days, and I had to be very careful when driving in these conditions. I had the tires changed, but this did not do much to improve its winter driving performance. I did not feel safe driving it during the winter months in inclement weather. This was disappointing, and on the worst winter days, I would take the bus.

2003 Toyota Camry - The Toyota Camry is solid and reliable.

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry and it is an outstanding car. Despite being 15 years old, the body of the car has held up remarkably well. There is little rust, which is amazing since I live in Michigan. I have owned it for 6 years and it has driven smoothly the entire time. I have never had any major mechanical issues, only minor ones. It has a manual transmission, which has always operated smoothly. The gas mileage is fantastic, especially since I drove a large V-8 sedan before buying the Camry. I am 6ft 6in tall, and despite being a mid-size sedan I have plenty of leg room and the drive is very comfortable. I also like that the car is so unassuming, so that no attention is drawn to it by thieves or anyone else. It isn't a flashy car, it won't attract the attention of the opposite sex, bu... (more)
Story
I was at the beach and a couple walked by. The man made a snide remark about my car, implying it was boring and bad. His girlfriend/wife hit him, saying he shouldn't talk because he drives a Kia.
Pros
The pros for this vehicle are the gas mileage, build quality, smooth ride and fantastic reliability. Being older means it is also able to be repaired easily and parts are readily available for it and are comparatively inexpensive.
Cons
It is a strange purple but not really purple color, the interior is bland and women don't throw themselves at me because I drive a Camry.
