2009 Toyota Camry - Great family car
I came upon my current vehicle after my older one was totaled, so we were in a rush to find a new car. I was disappointed that I did not have more time to look. But, I have since gotten over that. The car has given no more than normal hassles (o2 sensor, but it has over 100k miles on it). There is plenty of room in the back seat, and the trunk fits a full-size stroller, along with all of our groceries. The car is well made, not like the plastic junkers that come along now. The value also holds strong.
Story
I learned how to drift in the snow in this car. I had to leave a hospital parking lot in the middle of a snow storm. I had to go around a sharp corner and around a snow bank. I was sure that I was going to end up in a ditch. This car had just enough weight to get me successfully around the corner and was in full control.
Pros
The top pro that I have is that it is a safe and dependable car. The only repair work I have had to have done on it in the past two and a half years is the o2 sensor. This is a problem that I have had with all of my cars. My last car it was only 50k miles though, and this car has over 130k. The second thing I like the most about it is that it is spacious. We can fit a rear-facing car seat easily in the back seat with tall people sitting in the front. Given that the laws and safety recommendations are rear facing until a minimum of two this is vital. Cons
The biggest con I would have is that this car has a huge blind spot. There have been multiple times that I couldn't even see Suburbans on my side.
2004 Toyota Camry - Best car I've ever owned!
My car is a 2004 Toyota Camry XLE. While one of the best cars I've ever owned, I also admit it's one of the biggest cars I've owned which can make parking somewhat challenging although the single longest car I owned was right before it. This was the first car with leather upholstery and heated seats which make a huge difference in the colder months. I also love how roomy the car itself is. Previous to this my last car while stylish and was a bit of a sardine, which brings me to my next point: this isn't the most stylish car. It's not ugly by any stretch, but there's no flair to it. It's reliable however and quite good on gas so it has that going for it. Did I forget to mention space in the trunk? Plenty of space for those last minute beach days! Story
Being able to take this from central Connecticut all the way to Dover, New Hampshire, without worrying about it breaking down, and it was a joy to drive the entire way.
Pros
The heated seats is the number one best thing to me followed by the leather upholstery except for on really hot days. It's quite roomy and has plenty of space for trips, storage or last minute moves if you need to provided you are creative. I forgot to mention it above, but the air conditioning and heating are super effective on this vehicle or at last on my particular one. The suspension makes for a good drive like I'm on top of a cloud. I have had hardly any repairs to worry about in the last six years of owning this car.
Cons
Was not as stylish as my previous car and could be difficult to park at times. I had to get used to the suspension as my last car was practically on the ground, so that took some getting used to. But it was good when I did get used to it. I paid about a thousand more than I expected too for it; but, in the end, it was money well spent.
