Toyota Camry Owner Ratings & Reviews

1998 Toyota Camry - 200K miles or bust!
For a car that's 20 years old, I can honestly say that it's the most reliable car ever. I have about 120,000 miles on the car, and the only maintenance I've done is oil changes and replacing the clutch over the last 18 years. I could have a Mercedes or a BMW if I wanted a status symbol, but they would never be as low maintenance. As for the design of my car, I'd say the Camry is pretty timeless, so it doesn't actually stand out in the parking lot as a 20-year-old car. Believe it or not, I've actually had several people leave notes on the windshield offering to my buy my car! They know that Camry's last for a very long time, and I think one of the most practical things a car owner can do is keep your car for a long time. Buying a new car every year is just wasteful. I get great mileage ... (more)
Story
Most of my friends in New York City don't have cars, so when I'd go out with them, I always drove. I have countless memories of fun days turned to nights cruising around the city with my friends, going to dinners, parties, shows, events, day trips. It helped me to learn every inch of the city and my friends nicknamed me cab driver.
Pros
Reliable, durable, timeless design
Cons
The paint is chipping a little bit on the hood.
2015 Toyota Camry - Great price for the car.
Camrys will come with a 2.5-liter I-4 producing 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy in this model is respectable at 25/35 mpg city/highway. For those looking for the most powerful Camry, a 3.5-liter V-6 with 268 hp and 248 lb-ft is available, giving the car brisk acceleration for a family sedan while maintaining a decent 21/31 mpg. Both gas-powered engines are carried over from the pre-face-lift model and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Story
Toyota has further retuned the stability control system in SE models to intervene in a smoother way. And based on the success of the sporty SE model, a new XSE model has been added to the lineup and is the sportiest Camry yet, according to Toyota. With 18-inch wheels, unique shocks, firmer suspension bushings, and stiffer springs—as well. Both of these more performance-oriented Camry models ge... (more)
Pros
While the change in appearance isn’t radically different, it looks updated, more refined, and more contemporary inside and out. And the most significant change are under the skin. The Camry gets what Toyota calls an aggressive front-end appearance, with LED front running lamps plus available LED auto-leveling lamps for the low and high beams. Taillights get a new design that tapers in with the side sheet metal, and a ‘decorative garnish’—read chrome bar—runs across the trunk. Toyota calls that cue sporty, although it’s a generic cliché.
Cons
In all, it's not quite all-new, but as much so as mid-cycle updates ever get. The 2015 Camry has nearly 2,000 new parts (out of more than 6,000 total, for those who want to contextualize) compared to the 2014 model. Toyota says that everything is new except the roof. Toyota claims to have made some significant changes to improve the Camry’s responsiveness. While the existing MacPherson strut, multi-link rear suspension layout does carry over into the 2015 Camry, a new calibration for the electric power steering and a retuned brake-booster system make the Camry a better-driving car. So shou... (more)
