2003 Toyota Camry - Well built and dependable.
My Toyota Camry has been a great car for me. It has been very dependable. I bought it used at 100k miles, and I'm at 150k now. The only issues I've had are a slight oil leak and non mechanical issues and general wear and tear replacements such as tires.
The leak was fairly easy and inexpensive to fix. I've had no other problems with any other aspect of the car, including build quality inside and out, electrical systems, interior and exterior wear and major mechanical systems. Plus I'm able to comfortably fit while driving despite being tall!
Story
My friend/mechanic drove the car home after I bought it. Watching something drive away from you right after you bought it is a strange feeling.
Pros
Great gas mileage (manual transmission). Fantastic build and material quality. For being almost 15 years old everything has held up great. It is reliable and since I've had no major problems I have confidence. I'm very tall (6'6) and despite being a midsize sedan I fit comfortably with no problems. I enjoy the look of the car, because I don't want something flashy and attention seeking.
Cons
I have nothing bad to say about this car. The only possible negative aspect I could imagine someone having would be the styling. It could be considered comparatively bland.
1997 Toyota Camry - Excellent reliable workhorse of a sedan
I love my Camry 's extraordinary reliability, as I have personally driven it 120,000 of its nearly 360,000 lifetime miles. In the 11 years of ownership, it has been both affordable and straightforward to maintain and repair.
Story
The dash cluster died during our honeymoon road trip to Niagara Falls, so we used our GPS to gauge speed and still had fun!
Pros
My favorite features aside from the spacious interior, which has served me well with two small kids, have been the well-designed cargo space and streamlined controls. The trunk has comfortably scored my portable massage chair as well as massage table and supplies during my years as a mobile LMT.
Cons
The interior and exterior door handles have not held up well to extreme temperatures, and I have had to replace three handles thus far with aftermarket versions, which are inferior in quality.
