I immediately liked the styling of the Avalon, it looks like a higher class of car. I like the leather seats, lots of leg room, premium sound and lots of extra. It is very comfortable. The trunk is usable even for trips to the airport, long car trips and can hold a lot of soccer equipment including folding chairs. It was rarely in the shop, maintenance and repair costs are generally fair. One of the belts was quite expensive and re-keying is really expensive with that year's engine. In order to re-key it must a part of the engine must be replaced. Toyota has a program to pay for the replacement part but that's still a lot of money for labor. Mileage is quite good for such a comfortable car. It was fun to drive, breaks and handles well. Acceleration is not as great as the newer A... (more)
Story
Spent many days with the moon roof open. Graffiti was spray painted on the side of the vehicle door. It took only a small amount of time to remove and the color of the car remained true.
Pros
Comfort and a feeling of safety. Good mileage and low maintenance cost.
Cons
Fitting car seats into the semi-reclined leather backseats can be a challenge depending upon the brand of car seat. The more expensive brands fit more easily. Re-keying would be extremely expensive.

I love almost everything about this car. The interior is beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. While I feel that Toyota may have gone a bit overboard with the "touch" features, it doesn't diminish my satisfaction with the vehicle. I am especially pleased with the performance of the 2013 Avalon - it's responsive, accelerates quickly, and the steering has a tighter feel than the previous "grandma" models.
Story
My father accidentally hit the hood release on a toll way while looking for the change holder. We had to pull off the road.
Pros
My favorite features of the Avalon are the beautiful leather interior and the three different performance modes. It performs like a sports car, feels like a luxury car, and fits four adults more comfortably than many luxury SUVs I've been in.
Cons
It seems that Toyota tried to make up for previous models' tinny-sounding speakers by overcompensating with bass. It isn't very noticeable in the front seats, however backseat passengers are overwhelmed with bass. Also, I'm not very fond of the touch controls for temperature. It's far too easy to accidentally bump the controls while using the touch screen.

They were honest and took care of us quickly. While they are a Dodge dealership, they sold me a Toyota and the salesperson was actually knowledgeable.
