The Toyota 4Runner is super dependable. It is made with great quality and craftsmanship. Even the basic SR5 line. It shows great quality in the work. It rides extremely smooth and is a great family vehicle. I like how it is a very comfortable and smooth ride on long trips or short jolts to the city. I do not like the gas mileage, however. It is only 19.8 miles to the gallon, (it's not too bad), but there are other vehicles that have better mileage. The average gas mileage is a sacrifice I'm willing to take.
Story
We took a family trip to the springs, and it was wonderful. A time we will never forget when we went through the forest to get to the water and had we not had our 4Runner. I don't know that we would've made it!
Pros
I have the leather trim, ministerial package, which is wonderful! It's extremely roomy inside, and there are no loose ends anywhere. There's even an outlet in the glove box to plug in a regular phone charger. The inside is visually clean and sleek. There's plenty of room in the back especially when you fold the seats down to fit any large loads.
Cons
The only negative thing that I would have to say is the gas mileage. It covers under 20 miles per gallon, however I have gotten it to 22.5 on a long road trip.

I've owned my 2005 Toyota 4Runner for nearly 12 years now, and the odometer is fast approaching 140,000 miles. During this time of ownership, the vehicle has performed flawlessly and has continued to provide a comfortable and easy-to-use experience. The V6 engine provides adequate power and the transmission is smooth and refined. Fuel economy, though not revolutionary, is adequate for the class and the time period. The exterior of the vehicle is handsomely and inoffensively styled. The interior is quiet and comfortable, and though my SR5 trim lacks leather upholstery, the seats are supportive. Road and wind noise are minimal, and the overall driving experience is quite smooth. Handling isn't particularly stellar, but this is an SUV and not a sports car, so it's hard to complain.
Story
One time a friend got stuck in the mud, so I had to tow him out with the 4Runner. Thank God for the low gear settings!
Pros
The reliability is easily one of the best things about this SUV. It's approaching 12 years old, and nothing has broken (except for normal wear and tear items such as tires, etc.). The styling is handsome, and the ride is comfortable. Overall, it's just a practical, solid vehicle.
Cons
The fuel economy isn't the greatest, and since it's a larger SUV, it's a bit difficult to park and maneuver in city conditions.
