Really love the car. Joined a forum of other owners, put a small lift kit on it. The original Dunlop tires are a little hard, but will replace them with Michelins next year. That's the only thing I dinged the vehicle on. Built like a tank, very reliable. Had it inspected by Toyota before and after purchasing, no issues. Learning to do all my own maintenance. Vehicle is easy to work on. Love it, will take us on retirement out West. Love it, love it, love it! I purchased it used with 26,000 miles on it and it still feels and looks like a new vehicle. I bought the V8 Sport Edition with the towing package and the 6 disc changer with 10 speaker JBL audio system. I will never own anything but a Toyota!
Story
My friends and family are all envious! They think it's a brand new vehicle and they're shocked when I tell them it's two years old.
Pros
I love the way it drives, rides and handles. The interior is top notch.
Cons
The one little thing that is awkward is the placement of the window switches below the armrest. Their placement seems a little low but when I mentioned it to a friend she pointed out that their placement was engineered so that if you have pets riding in your vehicle and hanging ten they won't be pushing the window switches. Makes perfect sense now!

2006 Toyota 4Runner - Strong and powerful.

The 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Perfect for a family outing, hauling the hockey equipment, or having a camping adventure. I have owned this vehicle for five-plus years, and the vehicle is over ten years old, and I, for the first time, just replaced the wheel assembly and axel and am only at 110,000 miles. That is pretty good considering the age of the vehicle. The vehicle has an excellent drive quality and provides a smooth, sporty ride. With its V8 engine, the 4Runner is capable of passing cars, getting uphill without a problem, and hauling large loads. The one downfall is the interior display going blank with the heat and eventually stopping working altogether, which is unfortunate. The other downside is the gas mileage it receives... (more)
Story
This vehicle has taken me over dirt roads to some of the most memorable hiking and camping spots I have been. It has taken me to Canada and Quebec City through the snow and never once hesitated in tackling those journeys.
Pros
Power, strength, durability, and stereo quality.
Cons
Low gas mileage and interior display breaking after ten years.
