I love that over the 12 years I've owned the vehicle, I've had almost no mechanical problems with it. At over 250,000 miles, the only things wrong are minor cosmetic issues. Overall, a great car for general town use and occasional dirt road driving. Would definitely recommend to a friend who had a similar use case in mind.
Story
I've taken this car to a lake nearby to stargaze with my wife. We could take a nap in the back waiting for stars to change and were also able to look out the sunroof when the wind picked up.
Pros
Very reliable. I haven't worried about getting stuck somewhere or if I would be paying a lot of money for repairs. It's a great size for me--small enough for everyday commuting use, but big enough to sleep in the back on a camping trip. It's large enough to drive several people around with baggage but doesn't feel like a boat when I'm on my own. Having a few power items (windows, door locks) is nice for when it's just me and I want to put down a window. While the interior trim is aged, it's continued to work.
Cons
Interior is starting to feel a bit aged; however, everything is just working. I just don't have a big need for a cassette player. The seat is starting to crack and breakdown, but I can't complain too hard for how much I've used the vehicle. Being an older and larger vehicle, it also doesn't get fantastic mileage, but it isn't prohibitive.

The most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I purchased it with 65,000 miles and now have over 130,000 miles. During that time, the only maintenance needed has been oil changes, replace brakes, new tires, new battery, and one repair for an electric door lock that stopped working. This 4Runner has moved me across the country and survived Midwest winters as well as 110-degree summers without so much as a stutter. Hands down the most satisfied I've ever been as an owner.
Story
I managed to go a whole winter in South Bend, Indiana, without ever shoveling my 4Runner out of the snow. The all-wheel drive was strong enough that I was always able to drive out of any parking spot, including over snow banks created by plows.
Pros
With 130,000 miles, it feels like it's just getting settled in. I can absolutely see this vehicle lasting 250,000 miles with no major issues. All-wheel drive is amazing for driving in rain and snow as you never lose traction. I love having the power tailgate window for quick access to the cargo area without opening up the whole tailgate. Paint has held up well, and I constantly get compliments from people who don't believe it's a 2003 model.
Cons
There's a small tear in the driver's seat leather, which is understandable with 130,000 miles but a negative none the less. The navigation maps are from 2003 unless you want to pay Toyota $200 for an updated maps DVD. Headlights are starting to fog.

They had good customer service and treated people with respect. Most of the time they would ask you questions and let you think about the options available to you before bombarding you with deals that you can not "pass up". They also have quite a good selection of many models to look through. They even mentioned that if something wasn't in stock they would be able to order it for you and have it delivered to their location.

It's pretty close to home and the people that work there are pretty easy-going and laid back. When I was shopping for a car I never felt pressured into anything and they were more than happy to answer all of the questions I had. I can be pretty demanding when car shopping so it was satisfying to see how dedicated they were to making sure all my concerns and needs were addressed.
