I love my 2008 4Runner. We purchased this vehicle as our family car. It was used; we are the second owners. When we bought the vehicle it had 105,000 miles on it and it now has 186,000 miles. The 4Runner is perfect for us. I wanted an SUV but one that was not a gas guzzler and that was very reliable. I have always owned Toyotas and know they are worth every penny you spend on them. It is silver with gray cloth interior, with sunroof, CD player, 4WD. When we bought the vehicle it drove smooth until about 60-70 mph and then there was a horrible shake in the front passenger side. It was determined that the shaking was caused from poor tires and the front end being out of alignment. Once we replaced the tires it has taken care of that issue. The only thing I don't really like about... (more)
Story
Bringing home my son and daughter from the hospital and looking back at the two of them holding hands and singing abut Jesus is priceless.
Pros
One of the best things about my 4 Runner is the exterior design or 'LOOK' of the vehicle. It is very sleek, sporty and stylish. Very attractive to the eye whether you are driving down the road or it's parked in a parking lot. I love the sunroof and the power back glass. It is so nice in the spring and summer to open the sunroof and roll the back glass down and enjoy the fresh air while driving on the open road. I love being able to see so clearly from all angles while driving or parking. There aren't any blindspots and it very easy to maneuver. I feel like I am on top of the world wh... (more)
Cons
The number one negative thing about my 4Runner when we went to test drive it is the shaking in the steering wheel when driving 60-70 mph. Although it was the alignment and new tires and the problem was resolved after taking care of these things, it is very annoying to know that this happens every time one of those two things happen. I do not like that there is so little leg room behind the front seats. It is hard to have two car seats in the rear or forward facing if you are tall and need the seat pushed all the way back. Also it is hard to see if someone is sitting in the back middle ... (more)

I have owned my 2008 Toyota 4Runner for 11 years now and it has almost 150,000 miles. I have never had a problem with it and have only had to do routine maintenance (brakes, tires, etc.). It is reliable and still look pretty good for its age. I love that it has plenty of room, both for passengers and hauling groceries, luggage, etc. I have never been happier with a vehicle and when I do finally decide to buy a new one, it will most likely be another Toyota 4Runner.
Story
The first time I took my daughter camping, she was three. We were camping near a pond and at night the frogs were so loud. We gave up on the tent, folded down the seats and slept in the back of the 4Runner.
Pros
The top positive thing about this vehicle is the reliability. With almost 150,000 miles, I never worry that I will go out on a cold morning and it won't start. I also took it on a three-week road trip with my 10 year old last year and never worried that we would have problems with it. Another thing that I like about my 4Runner is that it is good in snow. Living in West Virginia, you never know what the weather is going to do, and there are a lot of mountains, so a vehicle that does well in snow, in mud, on hills, is a lifesaver.
Cons
The only cons with my Toyota 4Runner is that being an SR5 and an older model, it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles that I would like, such as heated seats, a USB outlet, a back-up camera. Those are things that I would definitely like to have when I purchase a new vehicle. Also, it came with third-row seats, which are basically useless. The sit in the floor of the cargo area and someone would have to climb in the back hatch or climb over the back seats to get to them, so I just removed them.
