1997 Toyota Paseo - Good old Paseo

I bought my Toyota Paseo from a guy who posted it on Craigslist. I really liked it because it is small and is the color black. I was single when I bought it, so I did not really care about how many people can fit in it or whatever. The Toyota Paseo that I have is a convertible (the one where the roof folds over). It's great to have this car, although I did not expect much from it because it was an old car. I also got it for a pretty good price. It has around 200,000 miles in it.
Story
One fun story I had using this car around my location is when I got off work, and my coworkers and I found out we all parked next to each other!
Pros
There are a lot of good things about this car. It is small and very easy to park on tight spaces. I have a small garage included in my apartment, and I am glad I can use it because it has some roof problems which I will talk about later. Even though it is small, it has enough space for two people in the front seats (passengers seat and drivers seat) and a tight space for two other people in the back seat. Another good thing about the car is that even though it is small, it still has big space in the trunk. I have driven this car for 15 hours straight before, and it never had any problems. ... (more)
Cons
It has a couple of bumps everywhere because of just small accidents, and I found out that it's because it's metal structure is not that strong. If ever I get into an accident with a same size newer car, my car is definitely going to be a total wreck (a guy from the car shop said it is very similar to aluminum foil if I get into an accident, heh). The roof is already giving up. I think it's made of some kind of leather/silicon mix; I am not sure, but it kind of looks like a starved dog on its frames. I never open the roof anymore, because it's so old it's so hard to get it to fold back agai... (more)

This car was built in Japan and sent over to US. I chose it based on how doors closed and what type of sound they made when closed. Well, almost but that was very telling because sound doors made was very high quality sound, not "tin" like cheap and thin metal. It was crisp and weighted sound that anyone would like. Most cars this old probably would have experienced one accident or something similar but this one hadn't so,its body was in good condition. Engine had over 125k miles on but if you tune it properly it purred.
Story
Since engine purred so well, I would sort of race at traffic signals with other cars that have much larger engine. Expression on their faces, of surprise, looking at them was fun. Of course, I did not break traffic laws.
Pros
Body frames were rather solid, more so than other Toyota models I have driven. As with all 1500cc displacement engine, it gave me excellent gas mileage but still it was fun to drive because of how well the engine purred given a proper tune-up. My Paseo had Ming paint treatment that excelled at keeping her shiny and clean.
Cons
I don't know why but Toyota dealer technicians didn't know about proper installation of spark plugs. Almost all spark plugs are made using rolling machines, not CNC machines that would be too expensive. So, all spark plugs made that way have unwanted notches and extra material on their thread grooves that make them not suitable to install out of box. You have to grind away this excess material on threads before installation. After hearing technicians complain how difficult it was to install spark plugs into Toyota engines, I had to tell them why. Why don't Toyota dealers know about this? T... (more)

2010 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid - I love driving this vehicle and it is worth every penny I'll have to pay.

This Toyota Prius is a life changer. The car is great on gas mileage, just like the dealer said it would be. If I'm idling my car for less then 30 minutes or driving less than 25 miles per hour, my car uses one-tenth of the amount of gas I was using in my previous car. Now even with making long trips, I only need to fill up my tank about once every 2 weeks instead of twice a week. I also like how there are heated seats in my Prius and the air actually seems to work. Rear air vents came with this vehicle.
Story
One time I was singing to my girlfriend and we pulled up to the drive thru and I thought the lady couldn't hear me, but she heard me the whole time. :)
Pros
I like the GPS. It is very accurate. It is a family sized sedan so I didn't think that I would have near enough space in the back of my vehicle to move my things from my old apartment to my new apartment, but since it is a hatchback, I have more than enough space, way more space than I thought that I would have.
Cons
The only thing I don't like is that I have to burn gas to charge the battery that powers the electric engine.
