I have driven my 2003 silver Suzuki Aerio for almost 10 years now. I have put over 120,000 miles on it and I have to say that for the price, I am very impressed with how well it runs. I love that it is a simple and small 4 cylinder car that is very easy on gas mileage, but it feels so much bigger on the inside. This is important to me because for a lot of other smaller vehicles the aerodynamic designs make for so many blind spots and it feels like you are jamming yourself into a tin can. That is not the case for me and my Suzuki. My car has been wrecked and fixed 3 times and it still runs like a dream. The body of the car is made of a very light plastic and that is one thing that I was not very fond of. There is a strange panel on the back bumper that fell off of mine leaving my poor c... (more)
Story
Like the old souls that we are, my husband and I like to take Sunday drives and just cruise around the country and look at the wood and the crops and enjoy the sunshine and weather. One Sunday we were out trying to get lost in Central Indiana (which is almost an impossible thing to do) and our 1 year old daughter was in the back seat playing and looking out of the window. Suddenly, we heard a ... (more)
Pros
My favorite feature about this vehicle is the design of the interior and how it feels much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. It's not quite the TARDIS but it certainly does have a surprisingly roomy interior for a small car. I also very much like the gas mileage for this vehicle. It is not a hybrid, so for being just a standard combustible engine, I have saved a lot of money just driving this little guy. I also love that it is compact so parking in the city is not a big deal at all. Being a smaller car, I am very happy with how much "get up and go" this car has. One thing ... (more)
Cons
The quality of the materials used in this car are not really exquisite. The front and back bumpers are a cheap fiberglass plasticy type material and there are panels that easily fall off. The metal is not fine quality and it will rust easily, so you have to take extra care of that. The ignition has had some issues over time where I have to use a specific key and jiggle it up and down a few times in order to get the key to work. So I don't know if that is just specific to my car or if there are other Suzukis out there with the same problem, but that is definitely a con for me. This is not... (more)

Overall I have really enjoyed the vehicle. It was bought used at just over 100,000 miles and is now around 130,000 and is still going great. Just had to do routine maintenance at this point. The gas mileage is pretty good, I only have to get gas every week at minimum. It's usually about 275-350 miles per tank depending on how much city or highway has been driven. The car sits very low so you have to be careful when driving through dips in the road because the front end will scratch very easily, we lost a piece of our front end because of that. The space inside is okay for the size of the car. The backseat folds down for extra storage space in our 4-door hatchback model. I have a car seat in the back seat that, to be installed properly, the front seat is pushed so far forward that my kn... (more)

*More details of each point in main review* -Hatchback space when hauling a lot like on a road trip -Sits low so it easily scrapes -Little room in front seat when car seat installed

I purchased this car used. It was actually the first used car I've ever purchased. I tend to always buy new, but after working for a dealership for 10 years, I've learned a thing or two about depreciation. I am very happy with this little guy so far. He runs very smoothly for being as old as he is. There's only 140XXX miles, which is phenomenal for the age. Everything still is in good working condition. There are a few things that have slowed down like the power window. I also had to replace the speaker system. The only real issues I have are the absolutely insane way the windshield wipers are removed. I still haven't been able to get them to come off, and I'm in dire need of replacements. Also, the six-CD changer stereo likes to toy with me incessantly. I did some research... (more)
Story
The very first day I had him! The weather was just warm enough to put the windows down. I put the radio on and an amazing song came on and I just blasted it and drove. Haven't felt that free in years!
Pros
Price wasn't expensive. Paid Kelly book and it held a decent price. Gas mileage is fantastic. Small enough to not really kill me at the pumps and large/comfortable on the inside.
Cons
Apparently, the windshield was replaced at some point, and whoever did the job, didn't seal it completely. The blower motor for the heat and A/C only works on the high setting. CD player is a cranky old cat lady.
