Subaru Outback Owner Ratings & Reviews

1998 Subaru Outback - Good working reliable car.
My Subaru is a hard working vehicle that never breaks down on me and runs quite well in bad conditions. The engine has enough horsepower to get through mud and snow and has powerful acceleration. Its also a big car with a very large trunk space so I have never had problem transporting large amounts of things. Overall it runs well and gets me to where I need to go.
Story
I used to drive it all the time see my ex-girlfriend who lived 4 hours away from me. I knew the car was reliable to make the 8 hour round trip every time.
Pros
It has a large trunk space.
The engine in general is quite quiet while running.
The heater and AC unit still work well since '98.
The car has seat warmers and a CD player.
The car also has a rack on the top to put large objects.
Cons
It does not get the best gas mileage.
The defroster on the rear windshield does not work well.
The front leather seats are cracked.
The cruise control does not seem to function.
2015 Subaru Outback - Reliable and built to last.
I like almost everything about this vehicle. Its dependability and rugged design fits nicely with the sleek look and high-end standard features. Nothing feels cheap or rushed, and it feels likes it will be on the road for a long time. It gets great gas mileage both city and highway. The technology can sometimes get in the way or feel overwhelming, but most of it is a big bonus and makes driving even easier.
Story
I took my car on vacation not too long after I purchased it, and this was the first car that I have owned that is all-wheel drive and built for tough terrain. We had to drive to the other side of the island, and we found a crossing road that cut down the middle. When I turned the corner, I realized this was a dirt and gravel road. In my previous cars, I would have turned around, but I didn't a... (more)
Pros
I love the all-wheel drive and dependability. I feel like this car is built to last a long time and has lots of great standard features that make it feel luxurious. There is plenty of room up front and in back, and it also has a large hatchback trunk. It doesn't feel big while you're driving it, but it does feel roomy inside.
Cons
Its shape is okay, but I oftentimes have a hard time seeing fully when I have the visor down. The angle of the windshield and the height of the seat, even at a low setting, makes it difficult to see sometimes. I enjoy the eye sight sensors most of the time, especially for cruise control, but sometimes the beeping can get annoying when driving in high congestion areas or in town as it's constant.
