I immediately fell in love with my Subaru. I was looking for a quality family car that was fuel efficient, safe and comfortable. I tried out multiple cars and the second I sat down in the Outback... I just knew. I went on a test drive and the smoothness of the ride was incredible. It feels big on the inside so you aren't crammed together, and there is a huge hatchback for everything you need. There is a rearview camera built in as well, which is amazing. I live in the Midwest, so the heated seats were a must. I also really loved that the Subaru is different from other AWD vehicles in that it is 50/50 all the time and then if need be will kick more into the front or back. Most are 20/80 all the time.
Story
Just seeing my daughter in the backseat of it, instead of a cop car and knowing she was safe. When she finally started to sit front-facing she would just sing in the back.
Pros
My favorite things about my Outback is for sure the fuel efficiency. I used to drive Cadillacs and an old cop car, so getting close to 30 mpg now with the Subaru is crazy to me. I love the sunroof (or moonroof as they call it). I love all the space in the back for shopping or road trips or, when my daughter was a baby, having the stroller fit without any trouble. And I just really love how comfortable the seats are. I can go on a long trip in it and not be uncomfortable. I love the rearview camera built in as well. It took some getting used to, but now I can't imagine not having one.
Cons
I miss my V8 from my Cadillacs. The acceleration is a little sad on a Subaru, but it's a 2.5i. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. It was exactly what I wanted and there is a lifetime warranty.

I bought my Subaru because I had a few friends that owned Outbacks, and I was really impressed with how they handled in the snow. I live in Minnesota and really love that its AWD is 50/50 the whole time, unlike most that are 80/20. There is a huge trunk space, and as a freelance makeup artist, I can always fit my kit: a table, chair, set bag and any extras. I was also in a T-bone accident this winter from someone going 60 mph, and I survived with a TBI from hitting my head, but it could have been much worse.
Story
My favorite memory (memories) are of my daughter growing up in this car. Taking her to daycare for the first time, preschool for the first time, hearing about her friends and what they did in school, singing to Taylor Swift and just being able to look back and see her there and know we were both safe in our Subaru.
Pros
I think my top favorite things about the Outback is how comfortable the seat is and how smooth of a drive it is. I feel very safe while I am driving it, and it is low to the ground with a large windshield. I love having a sun roof and back rear-view camera; I never realized how much I would love having a camera to see behind me. I bought the Subaru because I wanted a safe car for myself and my daughter. After getting in my accident, I know with certainty that I chose the best car for our safety.
Cons
It has a large tank, so gas gets spendy if you drive a lot. But, it does get great gas mileage, so it's not a huge con. I used to drive Cadillacs and an old cop car, so I am used to the horsepower. It definitely took me awhile to adjust to the wimpiness in comparison.
