My Outback is a 2013 premium with leather, heated seats, a sunroof and the Harmon/Kardon stereo. It is the most comfortable car I have owned. There is plenty of back seat room, and my kids like the flip-down armrest with cup holders in the back. The cargo area is generous, and the cargo net and cover keep things secured.
Story
I take photos for fun and recently captured an incredible old abandoned farmhouse. In the process of getting close to the house, I got my Subaru Outback stuck in some deep sticky mud. It was worth the humiliation of needing help to get out, because I got a fantastic picture.
Pros
Even though its just a four-cylinder, the Subaru Outback is not under powered. It accelerates quickly. The interior is well designed, and the controls are easy to use. The stereo has options for CD's, AM & FM radio, XM satellite radio, or you can connect your phone via Bluetooth to play music, audiobooks, and podcasts. The Bluetooth connectivity is one of my favorite features. I also like that I can program the car to open my garage door, rather than having a separate device. We had an incredibly difficult winter this year with compact snow and ice for months. My Subaru got around very wel... (more)
Cons
One con to the Subaru Outback is that the doors do not lock automatically. I do wish I could have bought one with slightly fewer miles on it. Also, it does have some scratches and a door ding. One thing that would improve the Outback is to have something other than carpet on the floors, because it would be easier to clean. The lens to the backup camera is located above the back license plate, and it does tend to get obscured when the road conditions are wet or grimy.

A great road trip car. The Bluetooth audio system makes it easy to play music from my iPhone. I love that I can make phone calls hands free. There's room for everything in this car. If I can't stuff it in the back with the rear seats that flip forward, I can tie it to the roof using the adjustable tie-down rails. The ability to monitor fuel usage and efficiency is great. Smooth ride. Great-looking wheels. Superior hatchback opening and closing with the push of a button. Easy to hide your gear in the trunk area with the truck cover. Mine is a clean sleek white color with black trim. It looks great in my driveway.
Story
I did a cross-country road trip with this car the first year I purchased it. Though I camped much of the way, there were I few nights I simply slept in the back by flipping down the back seats. Plenty of room.
Pros
The A/C systems works great in hot weather. The four-wheel drive makes it a controlled ride on icy and snowy road. The drivers seat has multiple adjustment options and positions. The sound system and speed can be controlled using the touch of your finger. The bonus rubber floor mats for all four doors, and the trunk area have been great to keep messes to a minimum. A great road trip car that I've been known to even sleep in... just flip down the back seats.
Cons
I wish the windshield wipers had an auto-sensor, so they would come on in a light mist, rather than having to turn them on myself.
