2006 Subaru Outback - Reliable and dependable.
I like the reliability and dependability of this car. It's not the smallest car on the road, and it's not the largest either -- it's one that's just right. It's built to last, and it takes a beating, but it's surprisingly comfortable, too. It works as well in the mountains as it does in the valley, and it's a smooth ride, rain or shine. It's a work horse when you need one and a thoroughly enjoyable means of transportation when you're just out and about.
Story
The Outback is big enough to transport a whole farm load of animals. I've had two people, three dogs, seven birds, and two miniature sheep in mine all at the same time!
Pros
I feel safe on the road in it. It has comfortable seat belts and air bags, just in case something unexpected happens and you need that extra protection. It also has voice announcements that let you know when there's a problem, such as a door that isn't completely closed, which actually saved my dog's life when we were taking him to the vet one day, completely unaware that his leash was stuck in the door, which prevented us from closing it properly. Cons
This car isn't very fuel efficient, which is disappointing, considering the cost of gas these days. If it didn't cost so much to drive it, we'd be taking that baby out on the road a lot more often.
2015 Subaru Outback - Top-notch vehicle
This car has been an amazing ride so far. The Subaru rides extremely smoothly. I never noticed that my Mustang did not drive that well until test driving my Subaru. The leather has held up great even though I am constantly putting car seats in and taking them out. The gas mileage is decent for a crossover vehicle. I love the features - being able to rewind the radio for 20 minutes has been a game changer. If a song I love comes on the radio and I am not able to sing along (because there is another driver right beside me), I just rewind the radio when I am no longer around people and sing my heart out. The back-up camera is great, and I also love how my car gives a warning if I am backing up and another car is around I could hit.
Story
While driving home we saw a dark cloud and my three-year-old daughter said we need to hurry and get home before the rain came. I was shocked she knew what dark clouds meant and asked her how she knew that. She told me another time we got home it was raining and she saw dark clouds. I told her she was smart and she said 'that's because I eat Smarties!'
Pros
The best things are the smooth ride, durability of leather, and back-up camera.
Cons
The gas mileage is not exceptional, but it is good for its size.
