2006 Subaru Outback - Dependable car.
I bought the 06 Subaru when I moved to new England. I was told to buy an all wheel drive car for snow. At the time there were not many options for all wheel drive. The car performs excellent in the snow, and the rain. It doesn't get the greatest gas mileage (23 city, 28 highway) compared to what I am used to, but it is better than most trucks that age. It is a wagon, so I do have plenty of room to haul stuff, especially weekend projects and hardware store runs.
Story
When I first moved up here, New England, and got the car I was driving in the snow. I came to a hill and seen a few cars struggling to get up the hill because of the snow and ice. Not knowing how well the car would do I decided to test it out. That day I passed 4 cars on that hill struggling to get up it. One was a mini van, one was a bus, one was an older Chevy truck, and the last was I belie... (more)
Pros
The top positive things about my 06 Subaru outback wagon is how it handles in the snow. I enjoy the room I have to haul stuff, whether for hardware runs, camping trips, weekend fishing trips, or just taking dogs for a walk.
Cons
The top negative things about my outback wagon is it sits lower than newer models. The gas mileage is not all that great compared to most cars. One of the cons with this car is all the factory recalls I had. Even though the factory paid for the recall and paid for the rentals, it was still an inconvenience. Being that it is a common car in New England parts and work done are higher than normal. The biggest con for this car is I just paid over 1800 dollars to have a leaking head gasket replaced at 128,000 miles. For this year it was a common problem and apparently Subaru continued to use a ... (more)
2005 Subaru Outback - That'll do.
The car was a emergency purchase as I drive 80 miles each day to work and back and my 05 CRV had just gave its last gasp @230k miles. The color is absolutely hideous, it is supposed to be some type of champagne but it looks either gold or light green depending on the distance from which it is viewed. It drives fairly well and the all wheel drive will be a boon in the New England winter. The roof rack whistles on the highway. I've had to replace the battery within 2 months of purchase but came to find that it was 10 years old and no longer taking a charge. One of the calipers was locked up and the right rear wheel bearing failed. That being said those problems aren't entirely unexpected for its age.
Story
there was no particular instances of fun with this vehicle. I spend roughly about 2-3 hours a day commuting 40 miles each way in traffic. I don't typically drive for fun or pleasure, I make a concerted effort to not spend anymore time in my car than is necessary.
Pros
All wheel drive, gets me to work.
Cons
Whistles on the highway, could be newer.

2012 Subaru Impreza - Haddad Subaru Pittsfield
The dealership atmosphere was very fun (there was a popcorn machine and a Hawaiian theme). The salesman were nice and not super pushy. The salesman I worked with was great, we were able to negotiate the price and he threw in a free roof rack, which was already and assembled on the car when I picked it up.
2013 Subaru Legacy - Bertera Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Westfield
What made this dealership the best was the awesome customer service. I knew what I wanted and they made it happen, for the best deal and financing possible. They have great additional programs like tires for life, and getting serviced is a breeze.
