2008 Subaru Outback - A great car for winter climates

The 2008 Subaru model is greatly improved over the 2002 model. The engine issues have mostly been worked out, so cracked head gaskets are less likely. The AWD is strong and steady, to always give you strong control in bad weather. Without loading down with a roof rack, we've seen gas mileage as high as 30 mpg on highway trips. Subaru is known for generally reliable vehicles, which is good when the cost of repairs is so high!
Story
My Subaru has actually pushed snow over the hood while making tracks up the driveway. The AWD makes it quite a workhorse in snow!
Pros
Heated seats and fully adjustable driver seat are standard features with this vehicle, great options for short owners in cold climates! There is an AUX port allowing the connection of electronic devices right into the sound system- great for iPods or phones.
Cons
The interior passenger size seems like it should be roomy, but it's not. Two children fit across the back in car seats, a third passenger back there would be impossible. A rear facing child seat renders the front seat almost impossible to use for anybody over 5'4".

There is nothing to dislike about this vehicle. It's a great vehicle for people who like the outdoors (hiking, camping, etc.). It's also a great vehicle for people with pets. The vehicle has ample space for storing things needed for a road trip, and still has enough room for the whole family. The seats fold down so you can haul things back and forth if you need to. The Subaru outback has a very high safety rating and handles very well in hazardous road conditions. My Outback has 140,000 miles and has nothing wrong with it. All service has been completed and it still drives like it had 20,000 miles on it. The fuel economy is fantastic for being a utility vehicle. I can drive a week and a half without filling up again.
Story
I very much enjoyed taking our Outback on a road trip for the first time, since we have had it. We were not cramped in a small car, and actually didn't mind being in the car during the trip. We also have our own travel game, spotting other Subarus instead of Volkswagens.
Pros
Some pros of this vehicle is the storage space. It's like driving a car as far as how it handles but it still has enough room to store large items with the back seats folded down. High safety rating is very appealing because I don't have to worry about driving in the rain, ice, or snow. One of my favorite features of this car is the large storage space in the hatch and the cargo cover, so I can cover things that I've bought until I get home with everything.
Cons
The only con I can see about this vehicle is the material used on the center console and the interior doors. I have a dog and she easily puts tears in those things specifically. I know a lot of people with Subarus have pets, so I wouldn't think I'm the only one with this complaint.
