2003 Subaru Outback Owner Ratings & Reviews

2003 Subaru Outback - Great All-Purpose Vehicle
This vehicle has been great for a our family from day one. We were able to haul around our energetic dog and all his toys. We fit all our bags and coolers full of food in the car during road trips. Even though we live in San Diego, there have been some chilly morning where the heated seats really come in handy.
Story
We have lots of great memories taking our dog around town in this car.
Pros
I love the ability that the car has to store items and the overall roominess of the interior. I love the fact that, although it is an older car, the handling is still excellent. It still feels like you are driving a luxury car, even though it was manufactured in 2003. The car is also very safe. That is one of the major reasons that I had for purchasing this car. It got excellent reviews on all crash test sites.
Cons
One thing that people may not realize that appears to be unique to this car is that the insulation tends to wear out around the windows. Because of that, there is a lot of road noise when driving when the vehicle gets older. It is such a minor thing in the scheme of things, so I really don't want to spend money to repair it. But it can also be annoying when driving at high speeds. Also, my husband and I had a terrible experience once. Somehow (we're not proud of this) we locked both sets of keys in the car one day. We called AAA to get them to unlock the car for us. But because of t... (more)
2003 Subaru Outback - Great Car
It is really an excellent car. I have loved it a lot. I have only had my 2003 green Subaru outback for the past two years, but in that time it has taken me a lot of places. When I first bought the car, I took it across country (all the way from Ohio to the Oregon Coast) and it went almost perfectly. Despite already having over 110k miles on the car, I had no issues with the engine or transmission or anything like that. I did however have to replace the muffler when it fell off. The inside of the car is spacious and I like that the seats don't hold the smell of cigarettes very much. That's really helpful for me. I also really like the push out cup holder that is in the dash, that is super cool and I wish that more cars would have that sort of cup holder. It is very nice to be able to pu... (more)
Story
When I went to the Badlands with my friend and we were driving the car through the roads and a bison pooped on it
Pros
I love the gas mileage.
I love the cupholder.
I like the wad.
I l like the color.
I liked the price.
I like the little maintenance that I have to do.
Cons
My electric circuits seem to mess up now and again.
I don't like the parking light feature, it is confusing how you have to flip it.
My second sunroof doesn't open all of the way and I wish that it would.
