1995 Subaru Legacy - Tough little car.
This is one of the best cars I have owned. I bought it with 187k miles for $500 and put a clutch in it about 4 years ago and it has around 225k now still going strong. Had some bad wiring under the dash that caused it to stop starting from the ignition but I hardwired it. Also to cooling fan doesn't kick on by itself but I mounted a toggle switch to turn it on. I've been really rough on this car and it's barely given me any problems. Had to buy an alternator for it but that was about the only other thing I've had to fix on this so it's been cheap to own.
Story
I was in Pierre, SD and driving this car through big snow drifts and it got through all of it easily.
Pros
The top positive thing I like about this vehicle is that it is a 5 speed. Once I bought this car and remembered how much I liked driving a manual I decided I couldn't go back to driving an automatic. Another thing I really liked about it is that it is an all wheel drive car. It gets around really good in the winter time even better than a lot of 4wd trucks. I like how cheap I can find tires to buy online for it. The engine has been very reliable with no major repairs needed.
Cons
I dislike how underpowered the car feels when driving, I would often have to downshift into 4th to accelerate up small hills on the highway to be able to stay at 75mph. It is kind of hard to get in and out of if you are tall. The wiring is messed up somewhere that I can't find, but I have bypassed a couple things. The cigarette lighter has never worked and I've replaced the fuse and tried replacing the lighter itself but still doesn't work. Doesn't have cruise control, and on long trips that kind of gets tiring.
