I bought (or financed to buy) my Impreza while I was in college. I've had it for almost 9 years, and it's traveled with me short distances to friend's houses and very long distances across the country. Currently, my car has over 125,000 miles and is still going strong. The car has a smaller build and is very easy to control. One of the benefits of buying a Subaru is that all (but 1) of their cars has all-wheel drive, which helps with ease of control in steering and maneuvering. The style of the body still feels very contemporary, even as an almost 9-year-old car. The interior is cloth, and this has started to become harder to clear. I have a dog, and the hair is very difficult to get off the seats. The fuel economy isn't as great as other cars -- it's about 19 mpg city and 24 mpg hwy. ... (more)
Story
People that drive Subarus notice other people that drive Subarus. Sometimes we wave to each other. It's fun!
Pros
All-wheel drive. It tracks your current fuel economy using the trip meter. It has two meters you can trip. I use one to track current fuel economy and the other to track how long it's been since my last oil change. It has sensors that light up on the dash to tell me when the tire pressure is low, if the car is still cold, if oil is getting too low, etc. It's smaller and easy to control and steer. Power steering. Power windows. Power locks. Easy to adjust side mirrors from the driver's seat.
Cons
Fuel economy isn't as great as other cars at the same price point. Cloth interior is sometimes difficult to clean. Headlights are difficult to change on your own.

My Subaru Impreza completely suits me. It is compact, durable, and can get me anywhere I need to go all while being gas efficient. I spend a lot of time in my car for my commute and it is comfortable, easy to drive, and has plenty of storage room. The maintenance on my car has been little to none, just my regular check ups and oil changes. One thing I would change about my car would be the back seat room. There is not much foot room for passengers riding in the back.
Story
I have taken it all over the mountains and back roads through my area. It handles great through all the turns and the all wheel drive is amazing. Not many people can take their sedan through the mountains!
Pros
My favorite features about my car are is compactness, handling, and gas mileage. It is a smaller car so parking and fitting into tight spaces is very easy, even for those who aren't skilled drivers. Its handling is fantastic. I can take it on back roads and switch it to sports mode to easy make it through. Of course, I love getting great gas mileage. Approximately 30-32 highways and 24-26 just around town.
Cons
Again, I would like more foot room for my riders in the back seat of my car. I would of rather had leather heated seats than the upholstered ones I have now. They get dirty really easily. Mostly, the front bumper sits VERY low and scrapes on everything. When I'm driving on back roads it almost always catches.
