This vehicle has been very solid for me. It seems very, well built. I've had no major issues mechanically with the vehicle. It drives smoothly and the smart AWD works excellently. There are not any blind spots. The seat material is very tough but comfortable. It is easy to clean. I love that it often averages at least thirty miles per gallon. There are no interior cabin noises when I drive it on the highway or in the city.
Story
I've gone skiing and camping with my Subaru. Both experiences were very fun.
Pros
The pros of this vehicle are that it is very low cost in every tangible and less immediately tangible way. The obvious reasons it is low cost are things like fuel economy. The less obvious reasons are that it does not seem to require much maintenance and it is light weight, which matters in Colorado because that is how it is taxed.
Cons
The negative thing about the vehicle is that it has very few bells and whistles. For instance, it did not even have cruise control when we bought it. That meant that I had to buy cruise control after market. It also has very low ground clearance, even for a compact car. I have found that it can bottom out pretty easily which is frustrating.

I loved the way it handled in the snow. Overall, it was a decently quick car with a satisfying engine note and great handling. The visibility was top notch and the comfort was good (it came with bucket instead of bench seats). Everything about it screamed durability and long-lasting quality.
Story
"Rally carring" through the countryside at high speed on my way to a shooting range. No road? No problem.
Pros
The power, handling and snow capability were its best features, by far. It also has a stylish body style that Subaru has since replaced with more docile-looking designs which no one seems to be impressed with. It's therefore a true classic if you can get your hands on one that's in decent condition - they literally don't build them like that anymore.
Cons
It's expensive. Even used models are going for steep prices. It also takes 87 (mid grade) gasoline, so there's a minor increase in cost of ownership. Insurance rates run a tad higher as well - they explained to me that it's a result of the high projected cost of replacement parts (which is true - that said, they rarely break down).
