2010 Subaru Impreza - Excellent vehicle for the money.
There's not much I don't like about this vehicle. We got it brand new for a good price. I believe it was right around $18,000 brand new. It has AWD, AC, 5-speed manual transmission, a rear hatch and a 4-cylinder boxer engine. It has been a wonderful car so far, and we've just surpassed a little over 60,000 miles on it.
Story
This little AWD car has served us well in a cold and snowy climate and has never once gotten stuck in the snow or ice getting us either to and from work or hauling our kids around. We have a lot of fun driving in the snow because it gets around so well compared to others who get stuck or go off the road.
Pros
The car gets quite good gas mileage, even considering it has full-time all-wheel drive. Probably somewhere around 25 mpg in city, but on the highway if we take a long road trip with extended highway mileage, it'll still get close to 32 or so. We've had essentially no problems with the car at all since owning it for almost 8 years now. I've put new tires on it only once, and it still has the original battery in it as well! I've pretty much done nothing to it but routine maintenance, and it's really quite easy to work on myself.
Cons
It does have a bit of a large blind spot, but nothing that can't be overcome by simply looking over your shoulder before changing lanes. It does finally have a few rattles and bumps here and there, but we live in Montana, and the roads get really bad in the winter: ruts, ice, and all sorts of bumps arise from that. Plus, we live rural, so it sees country roads as well.
