I purchased the car brand new in 2009. The car looks nice and has been reliable. I now have 122,000 miles on the car and it still feels solid. I have actually be in 2 accidents with the car. Both times no one was hurt but major repairs needed to occur. I feel like the car was very safe in both accidents.
Story
Before I had a 2 wheel drive car and it was a nightmare in the snow. Now this has all wheel drive. I just cruse down the streets passing up cars like I used to have and laugh when they are struggling.
Pros
I like that my car feels very safe and stylish as well. It seams a little sporty but its not a race car by any means. It is also very good with gas consumption. I used to have to drive a lot for work so that was important. Now I don't drive as much but I still appreciate the gas savings. There is enough room in the back to have a car seat and another person without being to crowded. I also like that I have my Sirius radio installed in my car. Overall I would get this car again or I will keep it until I just run it into the ground. I love the All wheel dive. I can get around in the snow no ... (more)
Cons
Overall it is still a smaller car. I would like to have a larger vehicle at some point. It is starting to get a little older so I would like to upgrade in the future. I would also say that it has fabric on the seats which has gotten a little dirty. Overall the black seating is like a magnate for dog hair and its hard to get out.

I bought this car eight years ago and it has been very reliable and fun vehicle. I haven't had to repair anything other than routine type of maintenance such as replacing lights, tires, battery, oil change etc. I also had to replace the windshield, but this was covered by the warranty so all it cost me was time. Also, the CD player jammed and doesn't work anymore, but that's not a huge big problem because the radio still works well. I also enjoy driving it a lot still. It isn't that fast, but it corners really well and is pretty unbeatable in bad weather. Once I drove over 100 miles in "Texas blizzard" conditions without a problem. I would say probably the biggest disadvantage is the gas mileage isn't great. They claim that it gets 22/29, and this is probably pretty accurate, which isn... (more)
Story
I was driving some curvy back roads in rural North Texas once and driving as fast as I felt like through all the curves. It handled every corner really well, even when going much faster than the recommended speed signs read.
Pros
The car is reliable. It is pretty fun to drive and does really well in inclement weather conditions. It is comfortable. Everything generally works well without much maintenance.
Cons
The gas mileage isn't very good, relative to other cars in its class. It isn't all that fast. When I first bought the car, it was hard to find a place to get the oil changed because no one seemed to have the correct filter, but this seems better now.

When I first bought this car, I felt as if I had just won the lottery. It was an affordable, compact sedan that served all of my needs perfectly. It is spacious enough for even a larger guy like myself, while still providing enough room for passengers and cargo in the trunk. When I drive on the freeway, I can expect 33 mpg while traveling at a comfortable pace. The ride is smoother than anything else I have driven. I have now owned my Subaru for nearly three years, and I can speak about its flaws, and how this is not the dream vehicle I thought it was. First, the power is mediocre. When I bought the car, I was surprised with how much "pep" it had, but beyond the pep, you will struggle to get up any steep mountain roads without burying your foot in the throttle. One of the other flaws o... (more)
Story
This car is a peppy little sedan. I remember one day in the middle of a Vermont snow storm when I decided to take part in some "spirited" driving through some of the windy dirt roads in the area. They were not plowed, and this car loved every second of it. Very composed while sliding. I never once felt like I was losing control.
Pros
It is spacious, has responsive steering, is aesthetically appealing, hugs the road very well, and has great fuel economy, .
Cons
The road noise, true cost of ownership, lack of power, and cheap build quality.
