2001 Subaru Forester - Old and Reliable
I have a 2001 Subaru Forester S that I received last year from a trade-in. I traded a 2007 Toyota Yaris for this vehicle straight-up. I did so because I wanted a vehicle that could handle snowy and icy roads. I live in an area that is known for lake effect snow and horrible winters overall. The vehicle came with leather seats, seat warmers, AM/FM Cassette/ CD changer (6 disk). Overall, I love the feel of this car. I did get new tires once I received the vehicle, which I recommend for all used car buyers. I use the vehicle for every day commuting to and from work, overall less that 10 miles a day. I plan on running this one into the ground and then moving up to another Forester for my wife.
Story
So far, I haven't made any too long-lasting memories, but I love this vehicle so far and anticipate more memories to come.
Pros
I love the leather in the vehicle. I've always had cloth for my vehicles but I would like to have more leather in the future. I also enjoy the seat warmers in the winter months.
Cons
There is some rusting on the back window which is a concern of mine. I transport my daughter to daycare and would hate for that glass to end up in the vehicle. Also the rear motor burned out on the wipers, so those are not functioning.
2010 Subaru Forester - Great Car for Trips!
I own a 2010 Subaru Forester and I love it! Over the past three or four years I have put nearly 150,000 miles on it, and it still performs really well. If you drive the car at 55-60 miles per hour, the Subaru Forester can get up to thirty miles per gallon! It faithfully driven me all over the Midwest for soccer tournaments and college visits with my kids. Overall it has been a great car!
Pros
One of my favorite features of the car is the heated seats. I get cold very easily so the heated seats really make a difference. The car also handles well and does not seem to have any trouble in the snow.
Cons
One of the downsides of this car is the gas mileage when driving above sixty miles per hour...it's not great. In the winter, large ice clumps form in the wheel wells that appear to place strain on the plastic framing around the wheels.
