Subaru Forester Owner Ratings & Reviews

2015 Subaru Forester - The 2015 Subaru Forester XT is a car for every single need you have.
I own a 2015 Subaru Forester XT Touring as my primary vehicle. I researched extensively before making the purchase, and found that this vehicle meets every single need that I wanted. The 2015 Forest XT has a 2.0 Liter turbocharged 4 cyl, making 250 HP and loads of torque. It can beat many sports cars off the line in a drag race, yet when driven normally, gets decent fuel mileage for it's size. It has comfortable seating for 5 people, and lay-down back seats to accommodate hauling oversized loads. Subaru's full-time AWD system hugs the road even in inclement weather, giving you safety and security when you have to travel in less than ideal conditions. The interior is well outfitted, with a panoramic power sunroof and decent leather. It seats me comfortably (6'2" 240 lbs.) and the power ... (more)

Pros
Time-tested AWD system, 2.0T Boxer engine putting out 250 HP, spacious interior, panoramic sunroof.
Cons
Premium fuel only for the 2.0 turbo, lots of interior wind noise, difficult to use technology settings.
2012 Subaru Forester - In it for the long haul.
I have owned this car for three or four years now and have had to do nothing to it for upkeep aside from oil changes. At that, I am lazy, and it gets the oil changed about half as often as I should, but my trusty Carl (my nickname for the car) doesn't mind a little neglect! After years of owning and loving vintage cars, I can finally see the charm in owning a more modern vehicle in my Forester. If it holds up like it has been, I look forward to driving it until it is considered a vintage vehicle too!
Story
Taking my dogs to the local park was a breeze with the hatchback. I didn't have to worry about them leaping on me while driving or anything.
Pros
I absolutely adore having the open hatchback. I have two dogs and with the inclusion of a gate barrier, they love riding back there too. Long drives to the vet (as I live in a rural area) are a bit more enjoyable without having to worry about the pets getting into anything or doing anything where a stain might attract attention.
Cons
I don't really have anything negative to say about this car. It's held up well and has good mileage rates. I suppose, if anything, I would like for the lining of the trunk to be sturdier. Unfortunately, it already has several tears -- and that was before the dogs got at it. I am not violent or careless by any means, but loading a small suitcase into the back end (full of show-and-tell materials for school talks I did), ended up tearing up sizeable holes in the felt-like lining, revealing the plastic beneath.
