My husband and I bough our Subaru Forester in July 2015 after our twins were born. As new parents we were hauling around a LOT of gear but didn't want to sacrifice travel because we couldn't accommodate things like swings and pack n' plays.
Story
We love to be outdoors and we love showing our children the joy of nature. We will often drive for fun and stop often to look at fun things, a historical site, a snapping turtle, or an eagle nesting in the trees. Pros
The Forester is absolutely amazing for long trips with a lot of stuff. The trunk is truly spacious, there is ample leg room in the back seat, and the roof rack is very sturdy. The performance is also very solid. The Forester handles highway speeds up to 85 with nary a rattle or shudder. Around town the car is quiet and we have had no issues of any kind. It gets great gas mileage, both on and off the highway. The car also looks attractive. The lines are very clean and the sporty appearance makes driving fun.
Cons
The front seats do not have as much leg room - anyone over 6' will probably be uncomfortable on long rides. The steering wheel sits at kind of an odd angle, making our arms uncomfortable on long drives. The center console is very hard to clean.

I bought this Subaru when Subaru was not as popular as it is now. Back in the day when only hippies and other individuals drove Subaru. This car has over 150,000 miles and it has been through everything. This is a sturdy car and Subaru continues to make solid cars.
Story
I love outdoor activities, and this car carried everything from skis to tents to bikes. It is a great car for anyone who likes adventures.
Pros
This car is amazing because of the all wheel drive. This car has heated seats, which is great in the cold winters. I love the fog lights, but accessory on this car. I have a roof rack on this car, which I do not need or want but others like it.
Cons
This is an older car, so it has a lot of issues. Granted, this car is very solid and still has kicks to it. Got to hand it to Subaru for making solid cars. As with Subaru, there are issues with head gaskets, timing belts, and engine issues. The new Subaru are much better now with respect to these issues.
