We love our Subaru Forester. It has been extremely reliable mechanically and is super practical for our lifestyle. It has taken us on road trips, off-road excursions, and short runs to the store without any issues, squeaks, or breakdowns.
Story
We took a road trip from TX to Colorado in the winter to go snowboarding. Our Subaru did amazingly well in the snow. We didn't get stuck, we didn't spin out, and we made it safely. Plus, we had a great time snowboarding.
Pros
The first things that pop in my mind that I love about this car is the size, safety, and fuel economy. If you have pets, there is tons of room for them in the back. There is plenty of space for passengers in the back along with other stuff in the trunk. Subarus are known for their safety, and we have been lucky enough to have not been in any serious accident, but it is always good to know that our car is one of the safest on the road. Cons
While the interior is well built, the quality of products is a bit on the lower end to keep the price of the car down. The plastics aren't anything amazing. The boxer engine is a bit noisy, but you get used to it. While our Subaru has a few options, it is still pretty bare bones compared to newer cars.

I like that my vehicle is large enough for any occasion. However, a small car would be more convenient in other ways. The gas mileage is horrible and some problem or another causes the check engine light to come on at least twice a year. I would expect a car to be much older before it has problems with this frequency. I am fond of my car since I have had it so long and it was my first car, but I look forward to the day when I have enough money to buy a smaller, more efficient one.

It was my first car! It's been fun.
Pros
This vehicle is large enough to move most things, and to give a ride to any number of people that I would ever give a ride to. I am moving across the country in the near future and am going to just stuff all of my belongings into/on top of this vehicle for the move, which will save me a lot of money on shipping.
Cons
This car is too large for small parking spots. The gas mileage is horrible. After only owning it for 5 years the check engine light comes on with disturbing frequency, always for random different reasons.
