I've had this car for almost 2 years now, and I haven't had a single problem with it. It drives smoothly, and it gets great gas mileage. It is comfortable, even when driving for a long time (6-8 hours). I love the large sunroof, which is easily controlled via a console. The touchscreen is great for displaying information, and the radio is easily controlled through the screen or with buttons on the steering wheel. The car handles extremely well, even in bad weather!
Story
This car handles very well, so it's almost fun to drive even on windy dirt roads that used to scare me!
Pros
The gas mileage is great, especially for an SUV. The gas tank is about 14 gallons, and I get close to 400 miles per tank (mostly city driving, not much highway). The cargo space is fantastic! You can get even more space by folding down the back seats, which is very easy to do. The driver's seat adjusts in multiple ways, which makes it easy to get comfortable, even on long trips. The safety features are great! The backup camera makes it easy to reverse safely. Cons
The air conditioning seems to be an all or nothing - even at level 1, the air feels very strong, and there doesn't seem to be much of a difference in air amounts between levels 1, 2, and 3. The passenger seat is not as comfortable as the driver's seat is, although it's still not bad. The touchscreen can sometimes be hard to see on a sunny day, although I have it turned up to full brightness.

My Subaru Forester has been a champ in even the most difficult terrain. I have forded rivers and climbed steep rocky roads, and it does not quit. I can fit all my gear and camping equipment along with the kayak on the roof and travel everywhere I want to go. My only complaint is it looks too much like a wagon, but this was corrected on the newer year body styles. The engine is not exceptionally powerful, but I baby my Subaru. I trust my life to the quality of the car and know first hand it keeps me safe even in an accident.
Story
I took my Forester to the beach and had no problem driving on the sand and in the surf. My friends all got stuck, but the all-wheel drive could easily handle the sand.
Pros
The best thing about my Forester are the all-wheel drive system, the roof rack and the spacious interior. It also has plenty of clearance at the wheels, so I can avoid bottoming out on the ground. I got a towing bar mounted on my Forester, so it is even more versatile where I can carry a bike rack or a small trailer and not have to worry about having too much in the interior of the car.
Cons
My main complaint is the lack of power from its engine. The 160 hp boxer engine is not enough for such a big heavy car. I also do not like the interior layout and material used for the early 2000s models. The ceiling lining and carpet are cheap and does not hold up well with time.

They were very helpful in helping us find a good car for the money. They had a good inventory covering a range of prices, including a Forester at the best price we'd seen. It had a couple of small issues which the dealer pointed out, but without those we wouldn't have been able to afford the car. They also let us browse unbothered when we wanted to.
