We purchased our 2015 Subaru Forester in the summer of 2014. This has been our third Subaru and we are very happy with it. It has excellent winter driving abilities and I never feel like I can't drive in the snow or ice. I love that the All Wheel Drive is a constant feature. I have many hills and steep gravel to drive on and this vehicle never slips a wheel. It has plenty of room for me, my husband and two small children who are both still in car seats. There is only enough room in the back seat to fit a small adult along with both car seats. I wish that the backseat was just about 4 to 6 inches longer to allow a little bit more room. I love the cargo area. It is plenty roomy and my dogs load and unload easily through the back hatch. I can lay the backseat down and give the... (more)
Story
While driving thru the mountains of West Virginia this summer, we made a journey to the bottom of a very steep mountain road. At the bottom was the river and a very small gravel lot for boat trailers and such. Two pickup trucks had missed the edge of the road and were stuck in a ditch about 2 feet deep. They had been there for several hours and had not been able to pull themselves out. We... (more)
Pros
I love the All Wheel Drive with the Traction Control feature. I also use the low range mode when driving on slick surfaces that I would normally use my brake. The low range uses the engine to hold the vehicle back so you don't need to apply as much brake and risk sliding. I like the backup camera. It has a marked screen that shows in measurements how close you are to an object. I like the lights on the side view mirrors that stay lit when you are exiting the vehicle. My favorite feature is the Bluetooth. I don't have a super fancy smart phone and it still linked right up no probl... (more)
Cons
I dislike the cup holders in both the front and backseat. I would like if they could be removed and washed. It is very hard to try and clean the crumbs and sticky juice out of them with just a cleaning wipe. They could use a good soak in the kitchen sink. I would also like to see a different type of fabric or surface for the cargo area. Pet hair and debris cling to it like a magnet. I would recommend a vinyl or a fake leather that could be wiped clean. I find it very difficult to close the rear hatch. Especially when I have something in my hands. I think that an added handle ins... (more)

I absolutely love this car. I have two teenagers and a husband who is over 6 feet tall. This car has enough leg room for everyone. I love that the back seats can be reclined slightly. This makes road trips much more comfortable. Also, I work from home so I use this car to pick up and drop off my supplies. This car has enough cargo space that I only have to put the seats down about half of the time. I also love the MPG we get with this car. It's a crossover. My last car was a small sedan. This one gets better mileage. And it's very helpful that we can watch the MPG in real time. I love the fold down armrest in the back seat. It helps arguing teens keep their hands to themselves. Also, the cup holders in the rear armrest are very helpful. The lumbar support is fantastic fo... (more)
Story
I remember coming home from a meeting and parking in the driveway. My son was practicing riding a bike so my husband and I opened the back and sat inside as the sun set and watched and talked. It is actually comfortable enough to sit there and just chat.
Pros
If I had to talk about my favorite things about this car, I would discuss its large amount of cargo space, while it still feels like driving a car and not a bus. The lumbar support is another favorite feature as well as the moon roof that came with it. The leg room was a deal maker. Also, the fact that I don't have to bend over to unload a trunk anymore is great. The car is fun to drive and feels very safe.
Cons
There are only a few things I dislike about this car. One is that only the driver has the lumbar support. Something I wish were different is that the heated seats are only in the front. This was the first car we bought with Bluetooth, so I was a bit disappointed to find out it only pairs with one phone at a time. It's too much hassle to retrain it whenever I drive so I don't use that feature. Finally, I wish I had enough money to buy another one. The payment is high enough that we are now a single-vehicle household.
