2015 Subaru Forester - Love: It's how I feel about my Subaru.

As my first new and "grown up" vehicle purchase, I don't believe I could have chosen a better car than the 2015 Subaru Forester. I had done extensive research on reliable makes and models and this particular car always seemed to be at the top of my wish list. I love the fuel economy and that Subaru has a longstanding reputation for vehicle safety and longevity. There is plenty of space for transporting friends and cargo, and the interior is comfortable for extended trips. I felt confident on the roads this past winter having a vehicle with all-wheel drive; I did not have to cancel travel plans on account of slippery or snow-covered roads.
Story
I've taken this vehicle on two long-distance road trips this summer, with no major issues with the car encountered. My best friend who traveled with me even remarked what a nice car we were driving and that she might consider purchasing the same model in the future.
Pros
This vehicle has excellent fuel economy. I've also read many articles where the safety ratings for this vehicle appear to be very high. I often have to transport boxes of books for my profession (librarian) and the vehicle's trunk is very spacious; it is also easy to fold down the backseat to allow for more space to transport bulky items. My Subaru came with the all-weather package, which includes heated seats, and I find this to be a very nice feature.
Cons
The exterior paint of this vehicle seems a bit soft and prone to damage. Also, the appearance and styling seems somewhat dated and non-sporty. Another issue that I have and should look into getting serviced is that the backup camera appears to be misaligned and the view is somewhat crooked on my center console display when I put the vehicle into reverse.

I like the improved fuel economy of this vehicle over my previous vehicle. The car is well built, and it includes a comprehensive warranty that covers everything necessary for 3+ years. The standard features are excellent, and the add ons are affordable and worthwhile. It is still in its break-in period, so fuel economy is not to the point where it should be quite yet, but I am confident in the brand and in their ability to deliver.
Story
I just purchased this vehicle a couple of weeks ago, but I have enjoyed driving it around town and utilizing the fuel economy tracking features.
Pros
My favorite features of this vehicle include the heated seats, heated windshield wipers and side view mirrors, backup camera, fully adjustable driver's seat, appearance, fuel economy, perks offered by the dealership from which I purchased the vehicle, smooth driving style, fuel economy tracking mechanisms, and all wheel drive feature.
Cons
The top negative aspects of this vehicle include its break-in period for fuel economy, color choices that haven't changed in a few years, requirement of replacing all four tires when an irreparable flat occurs, and slight difficulty in seeing the rear of the vehicle.

2015 Subaru Forester ReportCard Review

Autolist ReportCard Score: 100/100

Pros:

  • Visibility is excellent
  • The cabin is quite roomy
  • Standard safety features are excellent
  • Fuel economy is superb

Cons:

  • The optional infotainment is dreadful as it feels outdated and has small knobs
  • There is no manual transmission on the turbo model
  • The interior and exterior design is uninspiring
  • There are no shifting paddles

Review Summary:

The Forester is fuel efficient, value-oriented, safe and performs well on the road.

Competitive fuel economy, a spacious cabin and available turbocharged power make the 2015 Subaru Forester a solid pick.

Thanks to a roomy interior, big cargo area, efficient engines and standard all-wheel-drive, the 2015 Subaru Forester is still one of the better choices on the market.
