The Subaru Baja has been an incredible and sturdy vehicle. With over 100,000 miles, the car has had very few maintenance requirements. The bed and roof rack have both been very useful for various outdoor activities such as camping, snowboarding, off-roading, cross-country road trips and weekend outings to the coast of California. Despite the sturdiness of the Baja, after about 10 years of use, it did develop a gasket issue which has been manageable. I highly recommend purchasing this vehicle as most issues have been very minor and cheap to fix.
Story
This car went all the way from California across the northern part of the country and endured slashed tires, a herd of buffalo, the badlands, Chicago streets all the way to Washington D.C. And then back to California via the Southern most edge of the country, including the Florida panhandle, New Orleans for Jazz Fest, a Level 5 Tornado in Texas, the 12,000 ft elevation pass in Colorado and all... (more)
Pros
The roof rack, the seat collapse feature, the bed and the all wheel drive are the top features of the car.
Cons
Gasket issues causing small leaks. The tweeters caused issues with the seal on the front windows.

The Baja is a cool looking car. I have wanted one for some time. I bought a 2003 Baja in 2016 and paid less than $12,000 for it. It had uner 100,000 miles. I've had nothing but problems with the electrical system. The dealer had it for three weeks, trying to figure ouf why the ABS system light would not go off. Spent $300 at the dealer tring to troubleshoot why my tail lights and brake lights weren't working. When I brought it home, they were working.
Story
Banging around the woods in Montana and Idaho chasing waterfalls, apline lakes, and old cedar groves. This vehicle has been fun.
Pros
Cool looking and different.
Cons
Electrical system tail lights, running lights, and parking lights are a nightmare.
