2010 Scion tC - Amazing ride
My vehicle is a Toyota Scion tC. It is a rich oxblood color and looks absolutely gorgeous. It is a two door car and the body shape is very cute and stylish. I love this car so much, the interior is a dark fabric which I prefer in order to keep it looking clean. When I had a tan interior in a previous car I found that it started looking very dirty due to the wear and tear of driving it daily. I love that it has a huge sunroof because it can let a lot of sun and air into the car without me rolling down my windows. I have long hair and with the windows down my hair can flap in my face and make it hard to see the road. I love how powerful the car is and how fast it can go and I also like how reliable it is and how it has never caused me any problems using it. The windows are tinted and it ... (more)
Story
My favorite memory was when I went car shopping last and I was looking for a car to buy. I don't know much about cars and definitely did not have anything in mind when it came to what kind of car I wanted to buy. I had no clue until I saw my friend Mark's car, which was a silver Toyota Scion tC, and my boyfriend told me how much he liked Mark's car. I took another look at it and fell in love w... (more)
Pros
First of all my favorite thing about the car is the color of it. My favorite color is purple. My favorite color nail polish to use is a deep red wine, burgundy, dark purple color. When I first saw the car I was enamored by it and was pleased to learn that it was the exact same color as the nail polish I was wearing. I love the shape of the car and the style of the body and it is so cute only having two doors. It is very roomy inside and especially in the back seat there is a ton of leg room. Being tall, my seat is always pushed all the way back, yet my friend sitting behind me insisted the... (more)
Cons
One negative thing about the car is it not having four doors. I like the fact that it has two doors but getting out of the back seat of a car with only two doors is kind of difficult when you're tall and always a bit uncomfortable. Plus if you're driving anyone in your car and when you park somewhere and they need to get out, I hate having to rush to get my stuff together to get out and push the seat forward so they can get out. I like having four doors so they can get out whenever they're ready and I don't need to rush gathering my keys and things to let them out. I liked having leather s... (more)
2010 Scion tC - Love Scion tC's
Overall review of my 2010 Scion TC is positive. The car is reasonably priced when new, however, I bought mine used for $12k with 34,000 miles already on it. The Scion was easy to learn to drive as it was my first standard transmission. Its clutching/shifting is very smooth. The car handles well in the snow with it being a front wheel drive and using the lower gears for better traction. Side note: the 2010 models look far better with a spoiler than without.
Story
i was driving down the road and came to a stop i saw to cars going the opposite way reving their engines. a scion tc like mine and a porsche boxster. The light turned green and the both took off drag racing down the road and i pulled a u turn and quickly followed to see who would win.... I was happy to see the Scion did.... i am however assuming he had a turbo, cold air, and exhaust kit on it.
Pros
The pro's are that the car gets great gas mileage - 27 MPG for a sportier car. As for it being a 4 cylinder, the car accelerates pretty fast even with A/C being on. I love the fact that it has both a sun and moon roof. Plus, with it having a hatchback, I can fold down my seats and even fit a push lawn mower in my car. It corners like its on rails and I feel full control of it while driving. I find myself going over 80 mph and not realizing it because of how fast it picks up speed and how smooth it travels. Another pro is that most of the car is glass, even the roof, so there really are no ... (more)
Cons
Some negatives are that I don't like the color choices for my model... the 2011 and up have better color options. Even though the car is quick, I wish it had a non base model that included a TRD turbo kit so it could be competitive with a Golf GTI. I know it's a sports car, however the low pro wheels that come with it are garbage. I blew three tires out in one year and had to buy after market tires for it. Also it handles well in the snow but the wheel wells trap a lot of ice and snow and I find myself chiseling snow out of my tires as there is not much clearance.
