After being in the market for a sports car for some time and browsing through different models and makes, I had the opportunity to test drive a 2015 Scion FR-S. I had read about them in the past and the similarities to the BRZ model. I was impressed with the no nonsense approach taken by the manufacturer as to the production of a simple, down-to-earth practical sports car that enabled me to return to the days of my youth. I eagerly awaited the test drive. Upon settling into a dark blue 2015 6 speed manual/auto transmission model, I switched on the keys and felt a thrill of excitement as the motor rumbled to life. The engine may be a bit small for some enthusiasts but I can tell you from experience that this car is no slouch in the performance handling division. The acceleration was smo... (more)
Story
I was stopped at a red light on Saturday morning. The road was not too heavy with traffic, and it was a divided road with eight lanes. A late model Camaro that the owner had obviously been making modifications to pulled up next to me. The driver of the Camaro kept gunning his engine. I knew he wanted to race with me. When the light turned green, he hit his gas pedal, and his car choked and bog... (more)
Pros
The transmission. A six-speed manual/auto. I like this feature in that I can replicate manual shifting from the steering wheel without having to interact with a manual clutch. The FR-S is practical without being over-loaded with a lot of useless gadgets. This lends to the charm of the vehicle in that it adheres to a true sports car motif.
Cons
If there is one negative thing about this car it would be the lack of a good built-in GPS system. There is an option to upgrade; however, it is very expensive. I think the manufacturers could have achieved a better solution with a different type of sound/media/nav package.

2015 Scion FR-S - Pleased, content, and satisfied.

I really like the exterior profile of this vehicle. It has a very sleek and sporty look. That is what attracted me to it in the first place. I also like the color. It is dark blue, and blue is my favorite color. I also like the interior. It is dark with red trim on the leather and seats. The only bad thing about the dark interior is it sometimes gets really hot if left in the sun. I also like the rough, lattice pattern of the material on the inside of the doors and on the dashboard. I dislike the fact that I had to replace three tires in a span of four–-twelve months. I have never had to replace this many tires for one car, let alone for a new car and in such short a time. I also dislike that the windows seem to not completely close. It has an automatic feature to where the ... (more)
Story
I was at the stop light near my apartment, and a Subaru BRZ pulled up beside me. This is the car that is a different make and model but is almost exactly the same. We looked at each other and shared a laugh -- almost like an inside joke.
Pros
My favorite feature of the vehicle is definitely the sporty look. I also like the sound the tail pipes make when the vehicle accelerates.
Cons
The top negative item about the vehicle is the fact that I had to replace so many tires in a such a short time. I have never had this problem with any other vehicle, let alone a new vehicle.
