Ever since Scion announced the FR-S, I had been chomping at the bit to get one. It was beautiful. When I finally got my hands on one, I was ecstatic. Since then, not a single day has gone by where I don't look at the car and think that it's stunning. Firstly, the car is beautiful. It has an incredibly sleek body, nice lines and great stock wheels. The interior is done well - it doesn't look or feel cheap and there's a nice balance of materials like leather and accent work so it's not like driving a car full of plastic. Then there's driving it. The FR-S is an absolute cornering machine. Taking it through turns a little faster than you think you should will always leave you with a giant smile on your face. The car is built to perform, and it does so beautifully, but it also has a great... (more)
Story
We have a great race track here in southwestern Pennsylvania. Every now and then they do events where you can bring your car to the track and get some laps in. My first few laps I kept all the driver aids (traction control, stability control) on, but once I built up the courage to turn them off, the car really shined. I was getting the car sideways through turns. It really is a dream to do - y... (more)
Pros
The appearance is absolutely staggering. Everywhere I go, people stop me to tell me how nice my car is. People think it's much more expensive than it is. It is the absolute embodiment of a sports car. The sport-tuned suspension is a dream. Bumps in the road aren't as earth shattering as they are in other, similar sports cars, but you also feel the road as you drive. Taking it through turns at speed is great - the car responds with absolute zip, and if you turn off the traction control and mash down the gas, you get the back end whipping around in some fantastic slides. The car is built to... (more)
Cons
The back seats are absolutely worthless. I'm 5'8" and my drivers' seat touches the rear seat. No way could an actual human being sit back there. The engine is a little underpowered - I know the point of the car isn't to be a drag monster, but fitting a slightly beefier engine like the 2.2 Or 2.5 Liter boxer engines would be a great improvement.

Every time I sit into the driver's seat and start the Scion FR-S it feels like the first time I drove it. I currently have almost 50,000 miles on the vehicle. I have encountered no mechanical problems and the vehicle has shown its build quality through my travels across the United States. The Subaru-Toyota partnership that came together to build the car has done a great job. At 200 HP, many claim that the car is under powered. I personally feel that when considering the low weight of the vehicle compared to the power that it responds well and it is fun to drive. It has performed well on city streets, interstates, and dirt roads in rural America. On all of these different type of roads I was able to drive aggressively and take corners at high speeds while feeling that I was to... (more)

The Scion FR-S has been a great car for me and my wife. When we first started dating we went to the Beach in the FR-S. The car drove surprising well in the sand. Although it was not planned, I backed the car up to the water and we sat in the trunk and looked out at the sea. We were able to share quality time together listening to music and using the car as a temporary place to lay down and... (more)
Pros
The Scion FR-S accomplishes its mission to be a pure driving car. It minimizes luxuries and extra accessories to achieve its low curb weight and excellent maneuverability. The most attractive, positive characteristic of the FR-S is that it was built to be easy to adapt to the owner's desires and uses. I added a subwoofer to increase entertainment value and the driving experience. However, if I valued performance I could have added an exhaust system, cold air intake, or supercharger. This would allow me to have fun at the race track in addition to the street. Furthermore, many peopl... (more)
Cons
The only negative comment about the Scion FR-S would be the lack of backseat legroom. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the quality or performance of the car.

This car is an absolute blast to drive. It is stylish, fun, the handling and precision make you feel like you're driving a race car, and all this with just a v4 engine. The mileage is pretty decent and the cost for maintenance has been great. I have had no issues with the car. I have changed out the oil and the batter myself with no problem at all. The car is sleek and gets a lot of attention. The sound of the muffler is beautiful and the interior is gorgeous. It comes with a great sound system as well. I have really enjoyed driving this car for the past 5 years and will continue enjoying it for years to come. There are plenty of aftermarket parts that can be used to upgrade the experience even further. On top of all this, purchasing this car comes with an entire community. Every other... (more)
Story
I had a really beautiful girl pull up to me and compliment me on my car. I was at a stoplight and this Lexus pulls up next to me and the window goes down. This gorgeous woman asks me what kind of car it is. I tell her and she smiles and says it's really sexy.
Pros
The handling and precision.
Cons
It is a small car and can't fit much inside of it.
