2004 Saturn Vue - Satisfied with a Saturn
I purchased a 2004 Saturn VUE a couple of months ago here in 2015. With the car being eleven years old, I knew it was bound to have it's fair share of problems. Since owning it, it has done nothing but be a perfect car. The engine runs flawlessly; it does not sputter and it is quiet. The power windows run to perfection and I like that the controls for the windows are on the center console so they are easily accessible from all seats. The sunroof is a freeing experience. Most cars do not get anywhere near the gas mileage they are advertised at but my Saturn is averaging 24 mpg city and 28 mpg highway so it is right on point. The cons are few and far between. My main complaint would be that when driving on the highway, the car drives very loudly. I thought this might just be a problem wi... (more)
Story
I took my dog to the dog park and the back seats folded down so easily. The dog park is 7 acres and half of that is a giant pond in the middle of the park so my dog was covered in mud by the time we got done. I simply put a blanket over the trunk space and the folded down back seat and put the back windows down and my dog and I had a fun ride home.
Pros
good gas mileage
sunroof
manual transmission
power windows
great A/C and heat
sleek-looking design
Cons
loud
shaky first gear
easy-to-break vent controls
2006 Saturn Vue - Excellent, reliable, and comfortable. Best car I've ever owned!
My 2006 Saturn Vue is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The car itself has space for five people. The seats are some of the most comfortable chairs to recline back for a nap or to drive seven hours to visit a new city. The standard speaker system is amazing, and the audio quality is great. The back hatch opens up to a trunk large enough fit numerous totes or unfold the grocery separator for easy storage. The car is reliable and feels like it has the power of a V8 engine. Good on gas! It has been my daily driver for five years now!
Story
I was once going kayaking with my girlfriend. We actually ended up loading two kayaks and ourselves into the back of the car. We got them there without any problems, but we didn't think about how wet and muddy they would be after being in the river for four hours. It was hilarious, but we still managed to make it work.
Pros
The back seats fold down along with the front passenger seat. This allows you to fit a full-sized Kayak right into the car, without any issues! Back seats are dual cut, so you can just put one side down and still travel around with your children, while transporting a larger object. The seats in the car itself are very comfortable. Good on gas. Good audio system. A lot of storage compartments in the front and center consoles as well. Back seats recline or sit straight up for comfort. Comfortable enough to sleep in the back for two people, if necessary.
Cons
Loud fan cooling system. No brand of windshield wipers seem to correctly fit on the window. Back windshield wiper is very slow.
