2002 Saturn L-Series - Greatest purchase
I own a dark green 2002 Saturn SL with Cruise control, AM/FM, and A/C. The reliability of this car has astounded me when comparing to previous cars I've owned. I really enjoyed the sound system and interior of this car compared to other cars. The engine and power was amazing for my constant traveling for work. The air conditioner hasn't gone out and still gets very cool. I don't like that the back seat is small and have been wondering about getting another car, but honestly my 2002 Saturn is very reliable still. I had noticed Saturn recently changed their production and will have to do further research when looking for a new car in the future because I personally don't want to risk the same dependability of a newer Saturn versus my current car. I also, during my test drive, had noticed... (more)
Story
I once traveled from Maine to Texas and then to California in this car without any problems.
Pros
The tires for this car have not been expensive to replace. The upkeep for the car is not too costly. I think the visibility for this car is comfortable to my needs. I would rate the reliability of this car a 9/10. The car's color is nicely trimmed, and since I've owned it, it has kept the clear coat. The power of the car had been a main factor while living in a busy city. It has the power to get on and off the interstate and keep up with traffic. I think the body of the car is harder to get children in/out. The sound system has been exceptional since buying this car. I really like the feel... (more)
Cons
I personally think the car is too low to the ground. The trunk of the car is somewhat smaller than I wanted but it has kept up with my needs. My Saturn has a sunroof, but unfortunately, it has broken and the repair for it would be around $140.
2002 Saturn L-Series - Wonderful first car
When I saw this car, I knew it was the one I wanted. It's extremely cute and a simple, easy to use car. It drives well and I have had no major or even minor issues with it and most of what I've read from other owners of the same car is all positive. I also love that it is not easily damaged. I've hit a big steel mailbox with this car at one point and it cracked the headlight but otherwise was perfectly fine. The front end is long and it makes me feel even more safe because if I did hit someone it wouldn't rip through the front and cause harm to me as easily in a smaller car. I love that this car looks different, it stands out from the cars on the road that all look the same. There isn't much maintenance. The only thing I do dislike about my Saturn is that they aren't made any longer so... (more)
Story
There's no particularly fun stories about the vehicle, it's just a fun car in general. I love taking it out on long drives, love having my friends ride with me. It's a great little car.
Pros
I love the look above anything else. It is unique looking. A Saturn is easy to recognize on the road and has its own special appeal. I also love how easy it is to drive. It runs excellent, has surprisingly good sound quality for the year, and is easy to control and maneuver on the road.
Cons
I do dislike the way the front seat is. I'm short and I have to scoot it all the way forward and even then have trouble seeing over the wheel and reaching the gas pedal. I wish it had more when it comes to adjusting the seats, as in making them higher up. Another issue I've noticed is the headlights aren't very bright and it can be hard to see while driving in the dark and hard for other cars to see my lights if I'm further away.
