2006 Saturn Ion - Sturdy Saturn
The 2006 Saturn Ion 2 is 10 years old now, but it's still running. The weak plastic exterior would seem to point to a similarly fashioned interior, but, overall, it's held up well. It's been through a lot. Even through the 2012 nationwide key/ignition recall, it still works well.
Story
While driving Uber around Marietta, I've had passengers comment on how Saturn always has to be different with the dash being in the center. They've also commented on how the armrest compartment seems dated for a 2006 model.
Pros
The way it's weathered the storms of life. For a brief moment, my reckless brother got his hands on the car and gave it hell. He smoked in it, pushed its limits, and got into a car crash with it. But, in the end, it's still standing strong and is a reliable vehicle for me to use for everyday use in addition to being a pretty good Uber car.
Cons
The plastic exterior makes me feel unsafe if I were ever to get into a crash, luckily I haven't personally. The weirdest thing I ever had to fix was the throttle because it was filled with gunk and made the car turn off at random points. That was pretty dangerous.
