2012 Pontiac Vibe - Dependable
This vehicle is one of the smoothest operating vehicles I have ever driven. There is minimal noise when on both city roads (driving slow speeds) as well as highway roads (driving fast speeds). I am very thankful for the electrical outlet in the car. Many of us these days are dependable on phones (and them being charged when we need them). It is a luxury for me to have an outlet in the car as sometimes my electronics are on low battery. A second item I am thankful for is the built in sensor to turn on light beams when it is dark out. Sometimes, we are paying attention to so many other details when driving, but this feature makes us have to worry about one less thing! The gas mileage is EXCELLENT. Story
This car is very compact, and you can parallel park almost anywhere with it! Not a long bulky vehicle!
Pros
Light beam sensors - ability to turn on when it is dark out. Less stress and, as a driver, I do not have to worry about if they are on or not. Gas mileage is outstanding. I do drive a lot, and it is very nice to not have to constantly have to fill up the gas tank. Money Saver!! Outlet for charging electronics - very helpful! When on the road, sometimes I depend on my smart phone for GPS. This uses a lot of battery and the availability of being able to charge my phone is a major plus! This vehicle is small and easy to park just about anywhere!
Cons
I do not like the round shape so much. This is because I personally prefer a more boxy car. The round shape comes off as too futuristic for me. The blind spot in this car is a little frustrating in that there is a HUGE one. Really have to crank your head in order to see around it. Also, when turning corners I often have to sit way up in order to see around the window "barriers". By this I mean that the way the car is designed, the dividing structure of the big front window and the front left and right windows is large. 2003 Pontiac Vibe - Love it! Super reliable, versatile, and great for a young person.
The car has great build quality. 150k miles and no major repairs. It performed very well for me. I got great mileage- approximately 30 MPG driving the five-speed manual transmission. For a 15-year-old car, the speaker system and other interior trim pieces have held up exceptionally well- a testament to the previous owner and myself taking great care of it. The hatchback is exceptionally versatile. I can haul everything from furniture to sod to groceries to a car load of 5+ people.
Story
I took a wonderful road trip (500+ miles) with a group of friends in this car for spring break in college. It was a blast- we road tripped from San Antonio through DFW and back down to San Antonio taking back routes such as 281, etc.
Pros
The best features of this vehicle are its reliability, safety, and performance. The vehicle has not needed major repairs and has gone on many long road trips of 5+ hours. I have never had to worry about whether or not I would make it to my destination when in this car. The car is also super safe. I've fortunately never been in a major accident, but the crash test reviews are super, my visibility from the vehicle is great, and visibility is great for other drivers to see me in this car considering its mileage.
