I really like my Pontiac Torrent. It is one of the first SUV-type cars that I have ever known. I like that it is a larger car and that I'm sitting up off the ground. The brakes respond very quickly when I tap them to stop, and I appreciate how smooth the stops are. It has a lot of room in its trunk area, so I am able to fit my double stroller in there along with multiple grocery bags. I have twins, so I need a lot of space, and the backseat of the car is able to accommodate both car seats comfortably. There is also still room for my husband to climb back and sit between the car seats when the twins need the comfort of their dad. All the knobs on the radio are very easily viewed and easy to configure. The heat and air knobs are also very easily accessible and easy to figure out as well.
Story
I remember driving home for the first time from the hospital after the twins were born. Our son had to stay an extra night in the NICU, so we only had our daughter with us. It was so surreal seeing her in the backseat, and I was so enamored by getting her home safe that I didn't think about anything else in the world. I also felt safe having her in the Torrent because it seemed like a much saf... (more)
Pros
I like the color of the car. It is a pretty blue that sometimes looks purple in the sunlight. The car interior is nice. It is a soft fabric with a gray hue to it. As I said before, the car is very spacious in the trunk area as well as the back seat and even the front and passenger seats. I appreciate the ease of starting to drive and stopping. The pedals respond very quickly, and they are very smooth in transitioning from driving to stopping.
Cons
I have a sun roof that I really enjoyed at first, but then it started to leak. Something is wrong with the seal, and I didn't really enjoy having water pour into my car during rain storms. I also noticed that the response of my brakes and deceleration is inhibited by wet or icy roads. Even when it rains, my car has a hard time gaining control, and sometimes I have to let go of the gas and try hitting it again to start driving.

The Pontiac Torrent has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. The build quality is beyond that of what I would consider excellent. I've owned mine since 2009 and made absolutely zero repairs other then general maintenance. We change the oil every 3,000 miles, keep the air filter clean, and the Torrent just keeps going and going with minimal signs of wear. The interior has held up well over the years despite having three kids. Everything still operates properly, including the windows that my kids wore out in less then three years with our old Ford Expedition. I would also like to note I've been utterly most surprised with the build quality. My last Expedition, needed front end parts what seemed like every single year. After 7 years of driving the Torrent and the front end still... (more)
Story
We've used this SUV since day one of purchasing it for everything family related. Every time we go to the park or to Houston we take this vehicle and it has always been a pleasure for me and the family.
Pros
Reliable, high quality parts, sleek interior very comfortable, and gives a very smooth ride
Cons
Could use a little more room compared to other "full size sport utility vehicles."

I got this car as some sort of a 'substitute' car to drive to work while I was between my Ford and my Prius. This car was bought extremely last minute, as my car broke down and I was in desperate need to buy a new one. This car really surprised me, as it was a make that I never really considered or heard of. In the end, it did it's job well and was a great car! I didn't get any problems.
Story
We live near a popular drive in theater, and it was very fun to take this car to go see a movie, because there is plenty of trunk room to sit and watch the movie.
Pros
The pros of this car was that it gets great gas mileage. It is also a very sturdy car in general, and I feel very safe while driving it. I find no problems with the brakes, and when I do brake, it eases into the stop very well. The motor has far less problems than what I've dealt with in other cars.
Cons
The worst thing about this car would have to be the interior. I am not a fan in this regard. First it started with the door handles. Three out of the four interior door handles ended up snapping off over the course of a year. Gradually the upholstery on the seats started to shed. There's also a lot of problems with the radio.
