2001 Pontiac Grand Prix - Great first car
I own a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. This was my first car, and we are going on ten years together. It is a very roomy and spacious car, plenty of room to have multiple passengers and can comfortably fit three car seats. The car is long and wide but solidly built. Even after a few minor collisions in learning to drive, the integrity of the car has stood. In the front, everything is well made and sturdy. Surrounding the engine and hood is similar to a tank. One pet peeve is the cup holders. I have replaced the entire midsection four times because the cup holders kept breaking. The electrics in the car aren't fabulous. For example, the lights malfunction like crazy, windows fritz out and decide not to open or close (electric not crank), and when it gets too hot, the clock and radio cease to ... (more)
Story
I pulled up first to a light on a two-lane, one-way road. Who pulls up next to me but another Pontiac Grand Prix GT? Four doors, same engine, but red instead of silver. We smiled at each other, and when the light turned green, we took off. No one was around, and we were accelerating trying to see who could go faster. We ended up parting ways at the end of the road. He veered right and I veered... (more)
Pros
I love how spacious it is. In school I could fit multiple people not only safely in the car, but also comfortably. When I had my kids, I realized how great the roominess is because car seats are huge. I can fit two car seats and one adult in the middle without being squished, which is incredible considering the other vehicles I've had to cram my kids seats into and me in between. It really is a solid and safe car, even after minor fender benders very early on and learning the width of the car (he's a big guy). The integrity of the car has remained pretty impeccable with only minor work. On... (more)
Cons
The electric windows choosing when they do and don't want to work is incredibly frustrating. Either you open it and it won't close unless you remove the door frame and pull the window up manually (I'm not exaggerating it's nuts) or they just don't open. When the heat comes, the car pretty much melts down. Physically, the cup holder that pulls out of the middle literally comes off in your hand when it's hot out. I've replaced the middle section four times, and now, I've just settled on broken cupholders because I'm having more difficulty finding scrap cars I can pull the center console out ... (more)
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix - I am pleased that I have a dependable car.
I have had my Grand Prix now for about six years, and it is one of the most reliable cars I have ever had. I enjoy traveling all over the states because it rides so smooth and plenty powerful to beat other cars off the line. The things I have had problems with most are sensors going out. Also the molding on the doors mildew and come off, which are not replaceable. The interior is still in great shape and everything else works wonderfully. I love the amount of space I have in the car and the large trunk. I do photography and am able to put my entire studio in the back including my lighting and all. I have my back drops on large tubes and am able to fit them through the trunk hatch. This works out well for me. I just wish the car would last forever, I am not sure if the newer Pontiacs ar... Story
Traveling to see new places and doing my photography. I have been to so many places in my car and love traveling in it. I have to say those are my best memories.

1. The room in the entire car. It does not look big but it has plenty of space.
2. The pick up and drive.
3. The smooth ride and how quiet it is.

5.I love the way it looks.
6. Great on gas.
Cons
1. Sensors going bad.
2. Paint wearing out.
3. Molding falling off.
