One thing I love about my vehicle is the classic and yet still unique look to it. No cars have the shape or look of a 3rd generation Firebird, and I get lots of compliments. It also is faster than any modern car I have driven, even though it is a 1992 model. It handles very well too and stops quickly for old drum brakes. I also love the interior as it doesn't have a glove box or unneeded storage. It is very basic, and you can see well out of the windshield. One thing I dislike is the fact that it is an old car, lots of parts/hoses/interior panels will mysteriously break or be missing, and I have to find replacements. This is due to wear and tear over the years. I also disliked having to work on old headlights (pop up headlights) even though I love the pop up head lights, working on the... (more)
Story
One time I pulled up to a red light, and there was a cop with his window down. He hollered at me and said nice car. We talked for a little bit, and he told me to roast the tires when it went green. I thought he was joking, but he kept telling me to do it, so I did a gigantic burnout downtown right in front of a cop and he gave me a thumbs up.
Pros
One of the biggest positives to this vehicle was the speed and performance. Stock and without any modifications it's still faster than most sports cars even off the lot today in 2018. Another positive was the fact that it was an LT1 350 engine, which is very common and very cheap to work on. So if something broke, I could easily Google and pay a small bit of change to fix it. With any other car I've had, I have had to pay out of pocket so much to mechanics. This helped me learn how to work on my own vehicles as well. (Benefit of a classic car!) My favorite features for this car was definit... (more)
Cons
The top negatives for the car first off was the gas mileage. It had a TPI 5.0 350 v8 in it that did not get good gas mileage whatsoever. I was constantly filling up my tank. It also had lots of little parts that would break here and there so I would constantly be going to scrap yards to replace things weekly/monthly. Lastly, I'd say one of the negatives is how easy it is for your pop up headlights to break. I love the headlights, but working on them was an absolute pain, and I wouldn't want to do it again. Also working on electrical problems on a classic car is something I wouldn't wish on... (more)

I like this car because it's a sports car. It looks nice, and I really like how it looks with the T-tops off. It's fun to drive, and it handles really well. It may not be too practical since it's a sports car. It only has a hatchback, no trunk, and is only a two door. But I find I can manage well without a truck, and I actually prefer two door cars. It's green and I'm not that fond of green, but people have told me that it looks like it's another color at night. One person said it looked like it was black, and another one said it actually looked purple! Everyone loves to drive it, including my son who has told me he prefers it over his car. It performs well, considering how old it is and how many miles it has on it. It has had its maintenance issues and has had many repairs like a new... (more)
Story
I like to take the T-tops off and drive to the beach. One time it started to rain, so I had to pull over and hurry to put the T-tops back on.
Pros
The sporty look. The T-tops. Comfortable seats fits like a glove. Nice sounding stereo.
Cons
Only has a hatchback so there's no trunk, and you can't fit too much stuff in it. It's low to the ground, so it can be hard to get out of sometimes, and if there is any flooding, you have to be really careful if the water is a little deep.

My dream was to always own a Firebird. In 2014, I leased to own my very own. Starters are the seagull wing doors that open very smoothly, and black leather interior that has held up over time. I have a smooth ride and there is little noise. The metallic blue and emblem are quite snazzy. I have had barely any maintenance issues except a routine change of tires. It is a nice cool car for South Florida and the air conditioning is amazing, which is very important here.
Story
When I first got my car I named it Jimmy (after Jimmy Buffet) and went cruising down A1A with the window open up and down the South Florida beaches.
Pros
The pros far out way the cons with this car. I have had nothing but a smooth ride and it turns very well. Leather seats are very comfortable and so is the steering wheel, a small feature but important to me. I am not very privy to car parts as it was never my thing, but all the inner workings are top notch and there has not been any breakdowns or issues in four years. Regular tune ups are all I have needed. I got my color of choice as well.
Cons
Only negative I can say is there has been about two times I had trouble with the car starting, this was mostly when I first bought it. I was going to take it in, but the problem went away. I have since not had this happen again. So I can't say if that will be a future issue, when I had the tune up there were no problems found. It could have been me, as perhaps a "user error" type of thing. That is really the only problem I have had.
