Used Nissan Xterra for Sale in Lake Ridge, VA

The fuel mileage is pretty awful. I am lucky to average about 15 miles per gallon unless I am doing a sustained highway road trip, which might push 20 mpg. These are near the estimates, so its not much of surprise, but as current cars improve vastly, fueling up every week can get old. The other potentially negative issue with this vehicle is a technical but potentially devastating issue. A substantial number of Xterras suffered from a failure of the transmission cooler (which is routed through the radiator). The intermix of coolant and transmission fluid destroys both the radiator and transmission. Nissan is aware of this flaw and has extended the warranty on the transmission, but if you are considering owning this car in the long term, I would recommend you get a mechanic to bypass the cooler line (which is, from most accounts, only of marginal utility). The only other practical issue I have seen is a common one with other SUVs - since the xterra sits up higher, the blind spots are pretty big.
