I love my vehicle. I had always wanted to own a Nissan Xterra, because I liked the way they looked, as well as the options available, and the performance they delivered. I owned an older model Xterra before purchasing this one and went on to purchase a second Xterra, because I was very happy with my first one. I enjoy how it drives, as it speeds up quickly. I do not have to worry about performance issues, especially because I take a highway to work each day, so I need my vehicle to get up to high speeds quickly and maintain them. Additionally, it performs exceptionally well in the winter weather. I like that you can switch it in and out of four-wheel drive to help improve your gas mileage when you do not need to drive in four-wheel drive. The vehicle has great traction control, which h... Story
A friend and I went on a camping trip at a lake, where we had a lot of gear to haul, including paddleboards. We were able to fit everything we needed either in or on the vehicle, with room to spare. We attached the paddleboards to the top of the vehicle, thanks to the roof racks, and were able to tie down all of our equipment in the back with all of the tie holds located in the car. Pros
The best part about my vehicle for me is how it performs in the winter weather. It has no trouble handling snowy roads, even when there is a large amount of snow for it to drive through. Additionally, I don't really worry about hydroplaning in wet conditions, thanks to the traction control on the vehicle. Another favorite feature is how the vehicle looks. I like boxy SUVs, and the Xterra definitely has a boxy shape. Because of its shape, it has a flat back, which makes parallel parking easier, as you know were the vehicle ends. Cons
The biggest issue that I have had with this vehicle is the gas mileage it gets. My vehicle gets anywhere from 15-20 miles per gallon, which is much less than a regular sedan, and on the lower end for SUVs. Additionally, because it is built on a truck frame, the oil changes are more expensive, as they are truck oil changes, instead of car oil changes.
