2008 Nissan Versa - Good first car
The Nissan Versa is a solid all around car that has met all of my expectations as a commuter car. I have not experienced any mechanical failures aside from the replacement of parts and components that have been recalled, which were replaced by the dealer at which I purchased the car (e.g. Takata airbags).
Story
No matter where I end up driving my car, I am always able to find a parking due to the car's size and form factor. Whenever my friends and I go somewhere, I usually have the easiest time finding a parking spot.
Pros
The car has a form factor that is very compact from the exterior, but has a surprising amount of room in the interior. As someone who is taller than 6ft, I easily fit into the car with plenty of headroom without being cramped into the vehicle. The size of the vehicle makes it easy to park anywhere and offers great gas mileage. Though compact, the car has plenty of power for everyday commuting and fares well on long-distance traveling.
Cons
The car does not feature modern technology and conveniences like smartphone integration or usb charging for usb devices due to the year that the vehicle was built. Some problems can be remedied with aftermarket solutions like Bluetooth integration for hands-free smartphone usage or plugs that convert the plugs in the car into usb ports.
2007 Nissan Versa - A pretty good hatchback
My car is a 2007 Nissan Versa. I like the design from the back but not from the front. The back is pleasantly curved, but the front is flat and does not look like it belongs on the car. But from the side and the back, I do like the shape. I love the seats that support my back, especially when I'm driving. The dashboard is simple and easy to use. All the controls are intuitive so I do not have to fumble with them while I am driving. Driving on the highway and on city streets, the interior is well-insulated from noise. The car absorbs shocks well. I love the handling, not sporty, but very in touch with the road for an economy car. It accelerates well and quietly when merging on the highway.
Story
Once I was driving and saw a car exactly like mine with the same make, model, and color. At that moment, I was thinking that my car was really unique, until I saw its doppelganger.
Pros
I love that this car has bucket seats that support my back when I'm driving, how quiet it is on the road, how it accelerates well and how quiet it is for an economy car.
Cons
The only things that I did not like about this car is how the front looks and the gas mileage, approximately 28 miles per gallon. For an economy car, that is not impressive, considering that a new Corvette also gets approximately the same gas mileage.
