Nissan Versa Owner Ratings & Reviews

2013 Nissan Versa - Cute car, good mileage, gets you where you need to go with.
When I picked this vehicle, I was desperate and didn't have much money or income to be choosy. It was a previous lease, but still had 30,000+ remaining on its warranty, so having a high mile warranty is a plus about this car. It's cute and compact, and it's gotten be safely to work and school for the past two or three years. I love the mileage: can't complain about getting nearly 40 miles per gallon in a regular non-hybrid car. I like that there's decent space in the back seat and trunk, it's not super compact like some cars are nowadays. But there are plenty of things that I don't like about it too. The horsepower must be quite low, because it's a very slow accelerating car. This can be frustrating, especially when merging on the highway with impatient drivers behind me. It's very lig... (more)
Story
Once I was extremely tired driving home from my grandparents' house when the roads were slick, didn't think I could make it home safely and didn't want to risk getting into an accident. So I pulled into a department store parking lot, locked my doors, and laid the driver seat back so I could take a quick nap. When I woke up, it had become nighttime very quickly and was so confused at first bec... (more)
Pros
Mileage is fantastic! About 38-40 MPG is something I can definitely appreciate about this car. It's attractive in looks too, not that it should matter much of course. There's plenty of trunk space and room to comfortably transport even adults in the back seat if I needed too. Most of all, it was the right price and came with an existing 30k miles left on the warranty. That was my selling point.
Cons
I hate how slow it is to accelerate, and it's even weird going up hills so I avoid those. The air conditioner is odd and my car hums funny when it's on (but it came that way, it's not like its a problem with the A/C unit). It's very light so windy conditions are very precarious, and driving past semi trucks on the highway is nerve-wracking sometimes.
2009 Nissan Versa - A great compact car
I have owned my Nissan Versa for eight years now. It is certainly on the smaller side, but that positively reflects in available parking spots and gas fill ups. What I really love about the car is that it is a hatch back. If necessary, I can put the seats down and fit all sorts of different sized items in my car. I have rarely had to enlist someone with a truck to help me move larger pieces of furniture, etc., because it wouldn't fit in my car. Moving forward, I will probably purchase a car that sits a bit higher up from the ground, but I don't intend to do that until my car is at least ten years old or has some major repairs that are necessary. In my eight years of ownership, I have not had any major issues with the car besides routine maintenance. The price of the car made is managea... (more)
Story
I have taken this car on many a road trip, and it has always been dependable and allowed me to take a few passengers comfortably.
Pros
My favorite feature of the car is the color (it is magnet gray), and it is darker than silver but fairly light, so that it reflects sun rather than attracts it. It does not show dirt or pollen terribly bad. Since I chose magnet gray, the interior color is a dark gray that I also love. It does not show stains or dirt, and it has remained in what appears to be a pretty new condition. I also love the hatch feature. I can comfortably sit five people in my car with a decent amount of trunk space behind the seats, or I can put the seats down and transport a fair amount of things. The hatch provi... (more)
Cons
The only cons about this vehicle would be that the door handle became somewhat brittle and part of it fell off, and it does not sit as high up from the ground as I would like. The height of the vehicle is a more recent preference of mine and did not bother me the first few years of owning the car. The door handle issue happened within the last year or so. I just went to open the door and part of the handle fell off. It is still functional, just is not aesthetically pleasing.
