2015 Nissan Sentra - Tough little car
It's very solid and has about twice the interior size to my old car. I got this car in the winter, so it has been through some tough weather so far, being in the Midwest, cars get tested in the winter! The trunk is also an amazing size and perfect for fitting my mother's wheelchair and kids band instruments in there together. That's exactly what I was looking for.
Story
I had to drive my brother to his girlfriend's house once, and I put on a podcast that talked about deadly diseases (weird, right?!) so on the way home. I just sat there in my car, learning about diphtheria. It was fascinating and the oddest bit of fun.
Pros
I really love the meter on the odometer that helps me control how much gas I'm using. It has helped me drive better and has made me more aware of how much gas I've been wasting by constantly having my foot on the gas.
Cons
Sometimes I have issues with the radio. It tries to update and it fails and it takes the entire system down. I'm unable to listen to music or podcasts, which is my favorite thing to do while driving, so that bums me out. Thankfully it doesn't happen often, but it's definitely frustrating when it does happen.
2007 Nissan Sentra - Great, affordable car.
Overall, I very much enjoy this car. It was affordable, came with nice features (auxiliary input for MP3 players when this was not common, remaining mileage on the current tank of gas), and has been quite durable. There are some minor rattles, mainly in some unimportant pieces (like the visors). Given the price point, it is a great car for young adults or small families.
Story
The most fun I had in this car was taking a long road trip with my partner. We drove from Ohio to Iowa, and the car was extremely reliable.
Pros
The car is durable, as I have driven it 100,000 miles without having any major mechanical issues. The drive is smooth, and it handles quite well. The aux input for MP3s was a novel feature that similar cars at the time did not have -- and I have used it extensively. The car is Bluetooth compatible. I like how the back seats lay down to provide more cargo space. The trunk is separated into two compartments, which is nice because it allows for access from the back seat (if needed) while still maintaining the regular trunk space. The car handles well and drives smoothly.
Cons
A few minor rattles, mainly from loose nuts and bolts in the visors. Otherwise, I have not encountered any substantive cons with this vehicle.
