1998 Nissan Sentra - Incredibly reliable!
This vehicle is incredibly fuel efficient and reliable. I have owned it used for a couple years now and it has never had a single problem. It handles smooth and is very comfortable inside. It's inexpensive to maintain and I think it looks good for a car from the late nineties. For the price, this car is about as good as it gets as far as value goes.
Story
A few months ago I started noticing some strange sounds from the engine. I didn't do anything about it for a couple weeks then noticed the oil light was on. I checked the oil and it was 2 quarts low! I had driven it with hardly any oil for weeks and the engine is just fine now. Talk about a reliable car!
Pros
Fuel efficiency and reliability are the two biggest pros. I have yet to take this car into the shop and I've owned it for a couple years. It currently gets about 23 miles per gallon, which I consider great for a 1998. Also it drives nice and has very comfortable seats. I'm a larger guy and I have more than enough room in the front or back seats. The trunk space is much larger than other cars this size.
Cons
This model and year of car are high on the list of most stolen cars. My car was stolen once in fact. The engine is small which is good when it comes to fuel efficiency but bad when it comes to acceleration. It sometimes takes me ten to fifteen seconds to get up to 60 mph when I am really putting my foot down on the accelerator. If you live in an area of the country where it snows, this is not the best vehicle for you. It doesn't have four wheel drive and tends to slide easy in the snow.
